DURHAM, N.C. – The field for the NCAA Tournament is set as the Duke women's soccer team is prepared to begin its run to the 2019 College Cup at home against Utah on Friday night at Koskinen Stadium in the first round of the postseason.
Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. ET and will be broadcasted on ACC Network Extra. Fans can access the broadcast through WatchESPN.com or the ESPN app with the proper cable package or subscription. The winner will move on to the second weekend of play to face either Wisconsin or Milwaukee on Friday, Nov. 22.

The Blue Devils have had almost a two-week break in action after dropping their most recent matchup in the ACC quarterfinals. Duke fell to top-ranked Virginia in Charlottesville, 1-0, on Sunday, Nov. 3, to conclude its run in the 2019 ACC Tournament. Prior to the matchup with the Cavaliers, the Blue Devils dropped their final matchup of the regular season, falling to fifth-ranked Florida State, 1-0, on the road in Tallahassee. The two-game losing streak for the Blue Devils marks their first losing streak of the season as the team has lost its last two matchups. This is the first time Duke has lost two consecutive contests since 2015.
Duke in the NCAA Tournament
Duke is making the program's 25th appearance in the NCAA Tournament, including the fifth straight appearance. The Blue Devils have clinched a berth in the postseason tournament for the 16th time in the last 17 seasons and will host at least a first-round matchup for the fifth-straight year. Last season, Duke welcomed Rutgers to town for the first round of the NCAA Tournament before advancing to the second and third rounds at Georgetown. After defeating Lipscomb in the second round, the Blue Devils fell to host Georgetown in the Round of 16 to conclude their run in the 2018 NCAA Tournament.
Friendly Confines of Koskinen Stadium
Duke has a substantial advantage when playing at home in the NCAA postseason. The Blue Devils enter the 2019 postseason with a 20-2-1 mark in home matchups across the NCAA Tournament, while holding a nine-game winning streak in postseason home games, dating back to 2015. Duke is outscoring opponents 28-1 across the nine-game winning streak, including six games scoring three or more goals.
Duke vs. Utah
Utah will be making its first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 2016, entering the postseason with an 8-8-4 record, including a 3-5-3 mark in the Pac-12. Friday's matchup be just the second in history between the Blue Devils and Utes, with Duke holding the 1-0-0 advantage in the series. Duke welcomed Utah to Durham in 2017, claiming a close 1-0 victory in the lone game of the series.
Toughest Conference in the Nation
Headlined by three No. 1 seeds, nine Atlantic Coast Conference women's soccer teams were selected to compete in the 2019 NCAA Championships. The ACC's nine teams are the most of any league and marks the second consecutive year the conference has earned the distinction. All nine teams will host a first-round matchup and it is the 11th time in the last 12 years that at least eight league teams have been selected. Duke faced all eight other league teams that clinched berths in the postseason, including all three No. 1 seeds, Virginia, North Carolina and Florida State.
Trio of Blue Devils Tabbed All-ACC
After another successful season in one of the top conferences in the country, three members of the Duke women's soccer program reeled in All-ACC honors, announced by the league office. The Blue Devils, who finished tied for fifth in the league with a 3-1-6 record in ACC play, were led by the duo of senior
Ella Stevens and sophomore
Delaney Graham, who were both named to the All-ACC Second Team. Freshman
Sophie Jones rounded out the list for the Blue Devils, receiving ACC All-Freshman Team honors.
