DURHAM, N.C.—Duke University is hosting an IWLCA/One Love clinic on campus Saturday, November 2 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. The clinic will be hosted at Cohan Fields and all proceeds will go directly to help support the One Love Foundation to help fund future programming.
Saturday's clinic at Duke University will feature coaches from Duke, East Carolina, Methodist, Mercer, North Carolina Wesleyan, Piedmont, and UConn. Players will have the opportunity to work closely with those programs on individual stickwork, positional skills, small-sided play and overall game concepts.
The player limit is 100 participants and costs $175 per pay with team discounts available. Players will receive a t-shirt and a chance at sponsor giveaways. Those wanting to attend can register directly at
https://LaxwithLove.com. Dropoff for players is in Bassett Drive and parking is in the grounds lot.
Partnering with the One Love Foundation, the IWLCA created this Lax for Love weekend of clinics in an effort to promote empowerment for young women both on and off the lacrosse field. The event at Duke will be one of eight one-day collaboration clinics across the country.
"We are thrilled to announce this amazing multi-city clinic collaboration event with the One Love Foundation," said Kathy Taylor, IWLCA President and head coach at Colgate University. "Lax with Love was created from our desire to combine the game that we all love with an opportunity that empowers players and families to learn more about healthy relationships and give back to a wonderful cause. It is through the tremendous support from our member coaches within the IWLCA that Lax with Love is here!"
Lacrosse will not be the sole focus during the clinic as One Love, educators will be on site to provide every player and their family with education to help identify and manage healthy relationships.
The One Love Foundation was founded in honor of Yeardley Love who tragically lost her life at 22. It is One Love's mission to help assure this doesn't happen to others by providing education and engaging young people in conversation through workshops and peer-to-peer discussions.
