Holman Earns Midseason Freshman All-American Honors

DURHAM, N.C. – Duke redshirt freshman offensive tackle Casey Holman has been named to Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) Freshman All-American Midseason Watch List, announced by the website.
Holman has played in every game this season for the Blue Devils as their starting left tackle. He is part of a Duke line that has only allowed seven sacks this year, which ranks third in the ACC and tied for 10th nationally. Over the last six games, the Blue Devils have blocked for an offense that racked up 2,370 yards (1,122 rushing and 1,248 passing).
Duke's offensive line unit also has been strong at preventing tackles for lost yardage. The Blue Devils currently are tied for seventh in the country with 3.71 tackles for loss allowed per game. Duke's next closest ACC opponent is Boston College and Clemson who are both tied for 12th with a mark of 4.00.
Duke (4-3, 2-2 ACC) return to action Saturday when they travel to Chapel Hill, N.C., to face off against rival North Carolina (3-4, 2-2). Kickoff at Kenan Memorial Stadium is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. with the game being seen on RSN.
