DURHAM, N.C. – Duke junior Victor Dimukeje earned ACC Defensive Lineman Player of the Week honors following the Blue Devils' 41-23 win against Georgia Tech this past Saturday.
Â
Dimukeje's honor gives Duke its third weekly award recognition of the season after Koby Quansah and Jack Wohlabaugh were also acknowledged earlier in the year.
Â
The Baltimore, Md., native compiled six total tackles, including thee quarterback sacks/tackles for loss, in Saturday's win. He also caused a fumble, had two quarterback pressures, and added a third quarterback pressure on a failed two-point conversion try. Two of his three sacks came on third down to force punts, while the other came on fourth down to change possession. Those first two sacks helped set up Duke touchdowns. His final sack total were the most by a Duke player vs. an ACC opponent since 2003.
The ACC's other weekly honors included Louisville's Evan Conley (quarterback and rookie) and Hassan Hall (specialist); Clemson's Travis Etienne (running back) and Matt Bockhorst (offensive lineman); Wake Forest's Sage Surratt (receiver); North Carolina State's Louis Acceus (linebacker); and Miami's Trajan Bandy (defensive back).Â
Â
