LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Duke men's tennis team will look to continue its early season success at the University of Kentucky on Monday at noon.
Duke's Thrilling Successful Start
Through two matches this season, Duke has defeated Elon 4-3 and No. 24 Arizona State 4-3 … Against Elon, junior Nick Stachowiak came back from being down 6-3 in set one to win, 3-6, 6-3, 6-0, and giving the Blue Devils the victory … Against ASU, the Blue Devils trailed 3-0 with match point on the line before senior Vincent Lin, Stachowiak, sophomore Sean Sculley and junior Spencer Furman all defeated their opponents in three sets to improve Duke's record to 2-0.
Scouting Kentucky
Kentucky enters the match with a 2-1 overall record, with 7-0 victories against IUPUI and Northern Kentucky … The Wildcats loss came yesterday against No. 18 Notre Dame, where Enzo Wallart and Kento Yamada each earned a point at number two and five singles, respectively, for Kentucky … Yamada is 3-0 this season in singles play, while Wallart and teammate Cesar Bourgois are 2-1 at number one doubles … In the latest ITA National Rankings (January 9), Kentucky was listed under other receiving votes.
