PINEHURST, N.C. – Duke University women's golf freshman Gina Kim will compete in the Women's North & South Amateur Championship July 9-13, which will be contested at Pinehurst No. 2 course in Pinehurst, N.C.
A total of 90 golfers will be competing over the five days of action. The tournament will feature 36 holes of stroke play Monday and Tuesday with the top 32 golfers advancing to match play. The round of 32 and 16 of match play will be contested Wednesday, July 11 followed by the quarterfinals and semifinals on Thursday, July 12. The championship will take place Friday, July 13.
Kim will be paired with Isabella Fierro and Jaclyn Lee on Monday, July 9 in the first round beginning at 8 a.m.
A product of Chapel Hill, N.C., Kim is coming off finishing 10th overall at the Toyota Junior Golf World Cup in Japan with rounds of 73, 74, 73 and 72 to finish four-over, 292. She also placed tied sixth recently at the AJGA Thunderbird International Junior in Scottsdale, Ariz., with rounds of 74, 68 and 71.
