DURHAM, N.C. – Duke redshirt freshman defensive tackle Ben Frye underwent surgery on Monday to address a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and will miss the remainder of the 2018 season.
Frye, who in six games this year recorded five tackles including 3.5 tackles for loss and 1.0 quarterback sack, suffered the injury last Wednesday during practice.
The surgical procedure was performed by Dr. Annunziato Amendola.
Duke (7-3, 3-3 ACC) returns to action on Saturday with a road contest versus No. 2 Clemson (10-0, 7-0 ACC). Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m., on ESPN.
