DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke women's golf trio of Jaravee Boonchant, Hannah O'Sullivan and Miranda Wang will be back in action early this week in two different tournaments as the busy summer continues for the Blue Devils.
Boonchant and O'Sullivan will tee off in a stacked field at the Canadian Women's Amateur Championship at Cutten Fields in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. The action will go from July 25-28 with 156 competitors opening stroke play action Tuesday. The championship will be 72 holes of stroke play with the low 70 and ties advancing following 36 holes.
Recent Duke University graduate Sandy Choi will also compete in the Canadian Women's Amateur. Live scoring will be available via http://goduke.us/2vAN4pv.
Wang, a freshman from Beijing, China, will be competing in the U.S. Girls' Junior from July 24-29 at the Boon Valley Golf Club in Augusta, Mo. The field features 156 golfers and is open to any female amateur golfer who has not reached the age of 19. Wang was exempt for this year's action, after advancing to the quarterfinals a year ago.
The tournament will feature 36 holes of stroke play qualifying July 24 and 25 with the top 64 advancing to match play. Match play will kick off Wednesday, July 26 with the round of 64.
Fans can follow the U.S. Girls' Junior via FS1 July 27 from 4-6 p.m., for the round of 16 matches, July 28 from 3-5 p.m., for the semifinal action and on July 29 from 2-4 p.m., for the championship match. Live scoring will also be available via http://goduke.us/2tDqtLC. Wang will be listed on the scoring as Xinying Wang.
