DURHAM, N.C. – Duke women's lacrosse head coach Kerstin Kimel and the Blue Devil program welcomed 10 freshmen to Durham ahead of the 2018 campaign. Midfielder/attacker Katie Cronin joins the program from Darien, Conn.

Prior to Duke: A native of Darien, Conn., Cronin helped Darien capture four consecutive state and conference championships during her prep career. Her squad was also ranked in the top 20 nationally all four seasons. An All-American as a senior, Cronin twice garnered first team all-state and all-conference recognition and won her team's draw control award in back-to-back seasons.
What is your best lacrosse memory?
KC: Beating our hometown rivals in double overtime to win a championship.
When did you start playing lacrosse?
KC: I started playing in third grade in the town league with all my friends.
Who has had the largest impact on your life?
KC: My mom because she loves me unconditionally and reminds me what is most important in life.
Why did you choose Duke?
KC: Perfect combination of excellence in academics and athletics.
What are your goals for your collegiate career?
KC: Win a national championship.
