DURHAM, N.C. –
Bob Harris, the Voice of the Blue Devils, is in his final season as Duke's hall of fame play-by-play announcer. Over his 40-year career, Harris has called some of the most memorable moments in Duke basketball history. Fans can relive some of these remarkable plays with episodes of Duke Basketball Classic Calls.
This week's episode features Harris' call of
Jeff Capel sinking a buzzer beater just inside half court to send the game to double overtime against rival North Carolina at Cameron Indoor Stadium on Feb. 2, 1995. Capel's shot tied the score at 95-95, sending the classic game into a second overtime.
Cherokee Parks led the Blue Devils with 25 points and 13 rebounds, while
Trajan Langdon scored 20 points. Capel added 17 points and seven assists, while
Ricky Price scored 16 points on 8-of-9 shooting from the floor. Second-ranked North Carolina would end up winning the game 102-100.
