DURHAM, N.C. – GoDuke.com recently launched its
2016 Private Lesson Auction. Several Duke coaches are offering one hour private lessons for participants who have not started 9th grade.
The auction is highlighted by a one hour private lesson with men's basketball special assistant
Nolan Smith. Private lessons will be available in the following sports:
baseball (
hitting lesson and
pitching lesson),
men's basketball,
women's basketball,
fencing,
field hockey,
men's golf,
women's golf,
men's lacrosse,
women's lacrosse,
men's soccer,
women's soccer,
softball (
hitting lesson and
pitching lesson),
swimming & diving (
swimming lesson and
diving lesson),
men's tennis,
women's tennis,
volleyball and
wrestling.
The private lesson participant must not have started 9th grade. NCAA rules prevent an institutional coach from providing private lessons to prospective student-athletes. In the event Duke determines that a private lesson for the auction winner would violate NCAA rules, Duke reserves the right to declare the winner to be the highest bidder for whom such a lesson would not violate NCAA rules.
For the men's and women's golf lessons, the auctions are also open to interested participants who are 18 years old or over and who are not currently enrolled in college or a prospective student-athlete. For the men's basketball lesson, the participant must be 12 years old or younger and must not have started 7th grade.
