DURHAM, N.C.—Duke University senior Deemer Class earned the final ACC Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week honor for the 2016 season after leading the Blue Devils to a 15-8 victory over Boston University in the regular season finale. This marks the third time this season Class has won the award.
The All-ACC midfielder had a game-high six points on five goals and an assist to lead Duke to victory over the Terriers Sunday. The five goals pushed his season total to 49, ranking tied for 13th in Duke single-season history and tops among midfielders all-time.
The 49 rank sixth in NCAA history among midfielders and leaves him one shy of becoming the sixth midfielder in Division I history to reach 50 goals in a season.
Overall, Class has nine hat tricks and has recorded at least five points in four games this season. He topped the 60 points total for the second time in his career and is five points short of matching his total from 2014.
Duke (11-7) earned an at-large berth in the NCAA Tournament and will travel to play No. 7 seed Loyola Saturday, May 14. Faceoff with the Patriot League Champion Greyhounds is set for 12 p.m., on ESPNU.
