DURHAM, N.C. – Senior midfielder Maddy Acton was named to the Boston Storm's roster during the inaugural weekend of United Women's Lacrosse League (UWLX) play. Acton, who hails from Sudbury, Mass., joins former Blue Devil Sarah Bullard on the Storm.
Acton wrapped up her Duke career this spring with 98 career points on 81 goals and 17 assists. She took the field in 80 contests over her four seasons, ranking her tied for 10th in program history. The 81 goals also rank her 24th on the Blue Devils' career chart. Acton was third on the team in goals (31) and fourth in points (36) this spring en route to collecting second team All-South Region recognition from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA).
The first UWLX contests were held over the weekend in Bethlehem, Pa., with the Storm topping the Philadelphia Force by a 16-8 score. Action continues next weekend as the Storm takes on the Baltimore Ride Friday, June 10 at 6 p.m. at UMass Amherst.
