What is your favorite lacrosse memory?
EF: Winning states and FCIACs and team MVP senior year.
When did you start playing lacrosse?
EF: I started playing lacrosse when I was in third grade because my sister loved it. I watched her games and thought all the girls looked so cool when they were playing. When I played sports, I just loved to run around and play my heart out. I was very passionate on the field and, if we lost, I would be very upset.
Who has had the biggest impact on your life?
EF: Definitely my family. My parents have always been examples of hardworking people who were able to balance work and family. I also admire my siblings. My brother was part of an Emergency Medical Service (EMS) group throughout high school and in pressure situations he is always very calm and focused. I have always looked up to my sister in sports and really admire her ability to have so much success as a student athlete.
Why did you choose Duke?
EF: I wanted to go to a school with a great balance between strong athletics and challenging academics. I was drawn to the South because of the weather and all the extended family I have that lives down here and my family legacy with Duke.
What are your goals for your collegiate career?
EF: To work really hard and earn a starting spot and help the team win their first national championship.
Quick Hitters:
Favorite athlete: Stephen Curry
Hobbies: Painting, hanging out with my friends, reading
Favorite movie: Pride & Prejudice
If you were to play another sport, what would it be? Probably soccer
Hidden talent: I am very good at catching fish on the shore in North Carolina
Best advice you've received: Inch by inch it's a cinch, yard by yard it gets hard
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Hopefully in a job that never feels like a job, maybe with a family
To be a part of the Duke women's lacrosse program is … to be part of a driven group of individuals who play together as one focused group on the field.
