Blue Devils to Host NCAA Second & Third Rounds Friday & Sunday...
The third-seeded and 14th-ranked Duke women's soccer team (13-4-3) will host Illinois State, Northwestern and SIUE in the second and third rounds of the NCAA Championships Friday, Nov. 18 and Sunday, Nov. 20 at Koskinen Stadium in Durham, N.C.
Action will kick off Friday, Nov. 18 at 3:30 p.m., with SIUE (10-7-5) vs. Northwestern (15-2-4) and then Illinois State (14-5-3) at Duke. The winners of both matches will meet Sunday, Nov. 20 at 2 p.m., in the NCAA third round.
All three matches will be aired live on ACC Network Extra with Ryan Craig (PXP) and Jared Rist (Color) calling the action.
Duke is riding a 13-match undefeated streak in NCAA Tournament matches played in Durham, N.C., and has won its last three straight in the second round at Koskinen Stadium. The Blue Devils are making their 22nd NCAA Tournament appearance.

Duke is listed No. 14 in the Soccer America and NSCAA top 25 rankings, while being No. 15 in the TopDrawerSoccer.com listing.
In the latest NCAA RPI, Duke is listed No. 15 and the Blue Devils' four losses have come to No. 2 (West Virginia), No. 14 Clemson, No. 17 (FSU) and No. 18 (Arkansas). Northwestern is No. 26, Illinois State is No. 139 and SIUE is No. 174.
A Look at Illinois State...
Illinois State is riding a 15-match unbeaten streak heading to Durham this weekend along with a 14-5-3 overall record. The Redbirds have not lost since Nov. 8, 2016 (0-1) at Northwestern, who is also coming to Durham for the NCAA second round.
On the season, Illinois State has been led by Lauren Koehl with 17 goals and seven assists for 41 points. She ranks 15th nationally in points (1.86) and 13th in goals per game (0.77).

Payne in the NCAA Tournament...
Over her last seven NCAA Tournament matches, senior Toni Payne has collected four goals and four assists for the Blue Devils. She has scored in back-to-back home NCAA Tournament matches versus James Madison and Charlotte.
She now ranks fifth on Duke's all-time NCAA Tournament points list with 12, tied fourth with four goals and tied fourth with four assists.
Over her Duke career, Payne owns 21 goals and 21 assists becoming the sixth Blue Devil to reach the 20-20 club. She is also one of only three Duke players in school history to have at least 21 goals and 21 assists.

EJ Proctor owns four career NCAA Tournament shutouts, which ranks second all-time in Blue Devil history. The record is held by Allison Lipsher with five.
Gyau Nets First Collegiate Goal...
Freshman Mia Gyau collected her first collegiate goal in the first round of the NCAA Championships versus Charlotte last weekend. She became the fourth player and second Duke freshman to notch their first goal in an NCAA Tournament contest.
Others to accomplish this include -- Gilda Doria (sophomore vs. Long Beach State, 11-25-11), Katie Trees (freshman vs. Radford, 11-13-11) and Rebekah Fergusson (junior vs. Fairfield, 11-11-05).
Stellar Defense in NCAA Tournament...
Duke's defense has not given up more than a single goal in eight straight NCAA Tournament contests. The Blue Devils have allowed one or fewer goals in nine of the last 11 NCAA contests. In that streak, Duke is 8-1-2.
Over the last four years, the Blue Devil defense has held NCAA opponents to 0.82 goals per game, which is lower than any four-year span in school history.
Gibbons' Minutes...
Since Duke started keeping minutes played in 2002, senior Christina Gibbons ranks third in Blue Devil history with 7,544 minutes played behind Tara Campbell (8,003) and Natasha Anasi (7,803).
Gibbons is the fourth player in Duke history to register two 2,000-minute seasons. Only Anasi has notched three 2,000-minute seasons.
Gibbons has averaged 88.8 minutes a match over her career.
At Home in the NCAAs...
Duke has won its past 13 NCAA Tournament matches played in Durham, N.C. This includes advancing on penalty kicks in 2013 against Arkansas.
During those contests, the Blue Devils have outscored their opponents, 41-7, averaging 3.15 goals per game, while holding opponents to only 0.54 goals. Duke owns seven shutouts and EJ Proctor has yet to allow a goal at home in two NCAA Tournament matches.
Duke in the NCAA Tournament...
The Blue Devils have reached the big show for the 13th time out of the last 14 years and the 22nd time in school history. Duke has advanced to the second round of the tournament in 12 out of the last 13 appearances.
The Blue Devils hold an overall record of 31-19-9 in tournament play and advanced to the NCAA Championship match in 2011 and 2015, before falling in the title match.
Over the last five appearances in the NCAA Tournament, Duke has outscored its opponents, 48-16.
Duke Looks to Make Long Run...
Coming off last year's run to the NCAA Championship, the Blue Devils return most of their roster and is looking to make a long run in 2016. In the six matches in last year's tournament, Duke outscored its opponents, 12-3. In six matches in the 2016 Tournament, senior Toni Payne totaled three goals and two assists for eight points.
Four Receive Academic Honors...
A total of four members of the Duke women's soccer program received College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District III first team honors Thursday following a vote of CoSIDA members. All four Blue Devils will now be eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-America honors.
Receiving accolades were senior Christina Gibbons, senior Lizzy Raben, junior Imani Dorsey and junior Schuyler DeBree. To be eligible for consideration, student-athletes have to feature a 3.30 grade-point average or higher to be nominated. The four selections for Duke led all NCAA Division I programs.
Freshman Leading Scorer...
It marks the second straight year Duke has featured a freshman leading scorer as Taylor Racioppi and Kayla McCoy led the Blue Devils in 2015 with seven and eight goals, respectively. Racioppi notched a team-high 20 points.
In 2016, rookie Ella Stevens has a team-high nine goals and 24 points heading into the second round of the NCAA Championship.
Prior to the last two years, the last time Duke featured a freshman leading scorer was in 2011 when the Blue Devils advanced to the NCAA Championship game. Rookie Kelly Cobb paced Duke on the season with 11 goals and nine assists for 31 points.
In the ACC Stats...
Duke's Ella Stevens ranks tied sixth with eight goals, while Imani Dorsey and Toni Payne are tied 10th with seven. In points, Stevens is fifth with 24 points, Payne is tied sixth with 20 and Dorsey is tied for 10th with 19 points.
Christina Gibbons is tied second with eight assists and EJ Proctor is third with nine shutouts.
Duke ranks second in the league with 140 points and is tied first in assists (54).
Injury Bug...
Duke continues to play extremely well considering the Blue Devils have been playing without three starters for most of the season.
The Blue Devils have lost sophomore forward Kayla McCoy for the remainder of the 2016 campaign, who tore her achilles, after scoring her second goal of the evening versus Boston College Sept. 17. McCoy was leading Duke on the season with four goals and had 12 goals in only 34 career college matches. She had surgery Friday, Sept. 23.
Sophomore Taylor Racioppi (missed last nine games) owns a lower leg injury and is listed as day-to-day, while senior Rebecca Quinn will miss the remainder of the 2016 season with a foot injury. Quinn will apply for a medical redshirt.
Shutout List...
Junior goalkeeper EJ Proctor totaled her 20th career shutout versus Charlotte, which is fourth overall on Duke's all-time shutout list. After giving up six goals in a three-game stretch, the Blue Devils accumulated four straight shutouts before allowing one goal at NC State. Duke has seven shutouts over the last 11 matches.

Proctor owns 11 shutouts in ACC play over her career ranks second in Duke history (Tara Campbell, 16). Proctor is also the first Duke goalkeeper to record five or more shutouts in ACC play during back-to-back seasons.

Ella Stevens has moved into the Duke freshman single-season record charts in goals (T-4th, 9), points (T4th, 24) and assists (T6th, 6). Toni Payne moved into tied seventh on Duke's all-time assist chart with 21 and Christina Gibbons (19) needs one assist to move into a tie for 10th on Duke's all-time assist chart. Payne also ranks ninth in shots with 197. Gibbons has collected seven career penalty kick goals, which is a school record.

Hitting on a High Percentage...
Duke freshman Ella Stevens owns a team-high nine goals on the season. She has taken a total of 38 shots. Of her 17 shots on goal, Stevens has connected on nine of those attempts. Her rate of scoring (.529) is the highest for Duke since 2008, when KayAnne Gummersall scored on 15-of-28 shots (.536).
Noting Duke...
• After scoring three goals over the last four matches and being shutout in two of those, Duke burst out with three goals in the first round of the NCAA Championships versus Charlotte.
• Christina Gibbons has totaled at least one point in six out of the last 10 matches. She has started a team-best 70 straight matches in a Blue Devil uniform.
• Duke is 7-2-3 on the season at home. The Blue Devils have scored eight first half goals and added 12 in the second half. Duke has shutout opponents in seven of 12 home matches. In 12 home matches, Ella Stevens has scored four goals and notched five assists, while Toni Payne has four goals and three assists.
• Duke's 18 goals in 10 ACC games was tied second-most in school history (21 in 2004, 18 in 1997).

• When Duke has scored a first half goal, the Blue Devils are (13-0-1), with the lone draw coming against Florida State in the ACC Tournament. Overall, the Blue Devils have scored 24 first half goals to 19 in the second.
• Freshman Olivia Erlbeck became the 33rd player under head coach Robbie Church at Duke to start their first collegiate match versus Wofford.
• Ella Stevens became the 17th Blue Devil to score a goal in her first collegiate start as she totaled the game-winning tally versus UCF. Stevens is also just the sixth Blue Devil to score goals in her first two collegiate games -- Caitlin Connolly (1989), Heidi Mauger (1989), Andi Melde (1994), Leika Coke (1989) and Taylor Racioppi (2015).
• Duke has student-athletes from 15 different states and two different countries on the roster in 2016.
• A four-year veteran, Kara Wilson, graduated in 2016, but Duke will still be with a member of the Wilson family as her sister, Emily, is a freshman with the Blue Devils.
• Blue Devil alumna Kelly Walbert Cagle was the first Duke women's soccer player inducted into the Duke Hall of Fame Sept. 9.
• Duke features two captains in 2016 with Christina Gibbons and Lizzy Raben leading the Blue Devils. It was voted on by the team members.

In the NCAA stats, the Blue Devils currently rank third in total assists (54), third in assists per game (2.7), 16th in points (140), 28th in goals (43), 18th in shots per game (17.35) and 26th in scoring offense (2.15).
Christina Gibbons is 52nd nationally with eight assists, while goalkeeper EJ Proctor is 24th in shutouts (9). Proctor's 0.633 goals-against average ranks 22nd.
13 Wins...
Head coach Robbie Church has led Duke to 10 or more wins for the 10th time over his 16 years with the Blue Devils. Church has won 10 or more games for the fifth time over the last seven years.
