DURHAM, N.C. – For the fifth time in school history and the first since 2007-08, the Duke women's golf team has been preseason ranked No. 1 nationally in the Golfweek top 30 listings produced by staff writer Lance Ringler.
The Blue Devils return all five starters from last year's squad that finished second in the NCAA Tournament stroke play portion, before advancing to the semifinals of match play in Bradenton, Fla. Duke dropped a 3-2 decision to Baylor in the semis.
In the Golfweek rankings, Duke is listed No. 1 followed by Stanford, Southern California, Arkansas, UCLA, Arizona, Arizona State, Alabama, Oklahoma State, South Carolina, Texas A&M, Northwestern, Wake Forest, Baylor, Tennessee, LSU, Virginia, Pepperdine, Oregon and Purdue in the top 20.

Celine Boutier and sophomore
Leona Maguire to headline an impressive 2015-16 lineup.
Duke will be the first Division I women's golf program to enter a season with two reigning National Players of the Year on the same team.
A native of Montrouge, France, Boutier received First Team All-America accolades for the second straight year in 2014-15, after totaling a 72.69 stroke average over 10 tournaments. The 2014 National Player of the Year, Boutier registered three top five and eight top 20 finishes on the season. She owns nine top five and 17 top 20 finishes over the last two years with the Blue Devils.
Maguire, the 2015 PING Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Player of the Year and WGCA Freshman of the Year collected a school-record 70.78 stroke average as a rookie, while notching eight top five and 10 top 10 placements out of 11 tournaments. She totaled three victories on the year at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, ACC Championship and the South Bend Regional. Maguire, who is from Cavan, Ireland, registered a head-to-head mark of 894-54-13 a year ago.

An All-NCAA East Regional selection as a freshman and All-ACC honoree as a sophomore, Choi enters her junior campaign with three top five and eight top 20 placements in her career. A native of Seoul, South Korea, Choi earned her first collegiate victory as a sophomore as she notched an 11-under-par, 205, at the Cougar Classic.
A native of New Delhi, India, Singh turned in a 74.50 stroke average with two top 10 finishes and three top 20 placements as a rookie at Duke during the 2014-15 campaign. She saved her best golf for the postseason as Singh finished sixth overall in the ACC Championship and tied 14th at the NCAA Championship.
In 31 years as a head coach with the Blue Devils, Brooks has helped guide his squads to six NCAA National Championships, 18 ACC Championships and 122 team victories, which is the most of any women's golf coach in Division I history.
Other years Duke has been preseason ranked No. 1 by Golfweek in the preseason were 2007-08, 2006-07, 2003-04 and 2001-02.
Duke will open the 2015-16 campaign Sept. 27-29 at the Annika Intercollegiate in Orlando, Fla.
