The 21st-ranked Duke women's soccer team (2-0-1) will host 25th-ranked William & Mary (3-0-0) Sunday, Aug. 30 in the 2015 Koskinen Stadium home opener at 6:00 p.m. The contest will be aired live via the Blue Devil Network at www.GoDuke.com.
In the Rankings... Duke enters the match Sunday ranked No. 21 in the NSCAA and No. 25 in the TopDrawerSoccer.com polls. William & Mary is listed No. 25 in the Soccer America poll.
A Look at William & Mary... The Tribe owns a 3-0 record and has outscored their opponents 11-1 through three matches. Eight different William & Mary players have scored at least one goal under head coach John Daly.
The Series with William & Mary... Duke and William & Mary will meet for the 13th time in school history with the Blue Devils holding a 6-5-1 advantage. Riding a two-match win streak against the Tribe, Duke is only 1-3 all-time in matches played at home. William & Mary totaled a 2-1 win Sept. 24, 2000 in the last match in Durham, N.C.
The two teams last met Aug. 17, 2012 with the Blue Devils notching a 4-1 victory.
Proctor Posts Career High Saves... Sophomore goalkeeper
EJ Proctor posted a career-high 11 saves on the road at No. 4 Penn State. The previous high for the Wilson, N.C., product was six against Virginia as a freshman. Proctor and the Blue Devils faced 21 shots by the Nittany Lions. The shutout for Proctor was the first of her short career.
Duke, Penn State Battle to Draw... The 21st-ranked Blue Devils traveled to fourth-ranked Penn State and battled to a 0-0 draw over 110 minutes Friday evening. It marked the first time since 2011 the Blue Devils opened the season with three straight shutouts. Penn State outshot Duke, 21-14, for the match as five Blue Devils attempted shots -

Impressive Freshmen... Blue Devil freshmen
Taylor Racioppi and
Kayla McCoy kicked off their collegiate careers in impressive fashion scoring three goals each in the UNC Nike Classic. Racioppi, who totaled two goals in the season opening match against Fresno State, joined only Ashley Rape and Casey McCluskey as freshmen to score two goals in their first collegiate start. With her three goals in the first two matches, Racioppi is one of only six Blue Devils to score goals in her first two collegiate starts (
Kelly Cobb, Casey McCluskey, Andi Melde, Caitlin Connolly and Dena Paris).
Blue Devils Score Nine in Opening Weekend... Duke collected a 5-0 win over Fresno State and a 4-0 victory over Weber State to open the season over the weekend in the UNC Nike Classic. The nine goals in the opening two matches are tied for the third most by a Blue Devil squad under head coach
Robbie Church in his 15 years. Last year, Duke didn't score nine goals on the season until the sixth contest.
Racioppi Nets Honors... Taylor Racioppi was named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com National Team of the Week Aug. 25, after totaling three goals over the weekend in the UNC Nike Classic.
Kayla McCoy was named honorable mention, as well.
Pecht Scores for First Time Since 2012... Redshirt sophomore
Cassie Pecht collected her first goal since 2012 and her seventh career tally against Weber State to conclude the UNC Nike Classic.
Pecht had missed the last two years with knee injuries.
In the ACC Stats... Taylor Racioppi and
Kayla McCoy's three goals ranked tied first in the ACC through the opening weekend. Their six points each ranks tied second. Racioppi leads the league with two game-winning goals.
Danielle Duhl and
Malinda Allen rank tied fifth with two assists.
Duke has scored nine goals, which ranks tied second in the league, while the eight assists is fourth.
Noting Duke... • Duke enters Sunday's match at home with a 28-7-7 record at Koskinen Stadium dating back to the 2011 season. The Blue Devils will play their next three straight games at home as the Duke Nike Classic will take place the weekend of Sept. 4, 6.
