DURHAM, N.C. – Duke Football's Summer Spotlight series continues with junior cornerback Breon Borders.
Borders is set to begin his second year as a starter and has played in 27 games with 13 starts. He has booked 65 tackles with seven interceptions and 14 pass breakups. Borders owns the Blue Devil record for interceptions by a freshman with four in 2013 and shares the Duke rookie record for INTs in a game with two versus Florida State in the 2013 ACC Championship tilt.
A native of Statesville, N.C., Borders has recorded two or more tackles in 16 careers games with a personal-high seven stops at Georgia Tech in 2014. Among active players in the ACC, he enters the 2015 campaign tied for second in interceptions, fourth in total passes defended (21) and tied for fifth in pass breakups.
