Angela Salvadores are getting set to open action at the 2015 FIBA U19 World Championship in Chekhov, Russia. The championship will take place from July 18-26.
Stevens will be representing the United States, while Salvadores will compete for Spain. Both teams were placed in Group B with preliminary action starting Saturday.
A native of Raleigh, N.C., Stevens and the USA Basketball squad will open play against Spain Saturday, July 18 at 1:15 p.m., followed by a contest against China at 1:15 p.m., July 19. The teams will take July 20 off before closing preliminary round action July 21 at 1:15 p.m., versus Egypt.
Salvadores, who hails from Leon, Spain, will open with the United States July 18 at 1:15 p.m., and then will take on Egypt at 10:30 a.m., July 19 and China July 21 at 12:45 p.m.
The round of 16 will open Wednesday, July 22 before heading to the quarterfinals Friday, July 24. The semifinals and finals will be held July 25 and July 26, respectively, with the gold medal game set to be aired at 1:15 p.m.
The United States is coming off posting a 3-0 record and winning the Spain U19 International Tournament this week with victories over Spain, China and Egypt. Spain posted a 1-2 record but were without two of their key players competing with the U20 European Championship Team.
