Taina Mair and
Ashlon Jackson were both selected in the WNBA Draft 2026 presented by State Street Investment Management SPY at The Shed at Hudson Yards. Mair was picked in the first round by the Seattle Storm as the No. 14 overall choice, while
Ashlon Jackson was taken eighth in the second round and 23rd overall by the Golden State Valkyries.
Mair is the first Blue Devil to be taken in the first round of the WNBA Draft since Lexie Brown in 2018. It is the first time since 2020 a pair of Blue Devils have been drafted and the first time since 2014 two Duke players were taken in the top two rounds. Both Mair and Jackson were WBCA All-America honorable mention selections.
The 12th Blue Devil to be a first-round pick, Mair had one of the all-time great senior seasons in Duke history, leaving her mark on the Duke and ACC record books. As Duke's primary point guard this past season, Mair tied Chelsea Gray's Duke single-season assists record with 201, while also averaging 11.6 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. She is the first Blue Devil since Gray to average 10 points, five rebound and five assists per game in a season.
The Dorchester, Massachusetts native shined on the big stage, leading Duke to six AP Top 25 wins, including two in the NCAA Tournament. In 12 games against top 25 opponents, Mair averaged 13.3 points, 6.8 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 2.0 steals per game.
She was named the ACC Tournament Most Valuable Player after leading the Blue Devils to the title with 19 points and 12 rebounds in the championship game. She finished the ACC Tournament averaging 15.3 points, 9.3 rebounds and 4.7 assists. An All-ACC First Team and All-Defensive Team honoree this season, Mair also led the Blue Devils in steals with 89 to rank tied for eight in Duke single-season history.
Mair finished her three-year Duke career playing in 107 games, amassing 1,000 points, 456 rebounds and 458 assists. The 458 helpers rank sixth in Duke career history. In her collegiate career, Main posted 1,367 points, 610 rebounds and 675 assists. She is one of six Blue Devils to finish her career in a Duke uniform with at least 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 500 assists. Her 675 assists rank seventh in ACC history.
Jackson, a two-way player, excelled on both ends of the court for Duke this season, as she drew the opponent's toughest defender on offense and was matched up against the foe's top perimeter player on the defensive side of the ball.
Jackson averaged 33.8 minutes per game as a senior, averaging 11.2 points, 4.6 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game. Duke's top three-point shooter throughout her career, Jackson drained 73 trifectas for the year, making her the third Blue Devil to record at least 70 threes in multiple seasons. She owns two of the top nine single-season three-point totals in program history. She dished a career-best 164 assists to rank fifth in Duke single-season history.
A two-time All-ACC pick, Jackson experienced incredible growth during her time in Durham. She averaged just 13 minutes per game as a freshman, becoming a mainstay in the starting lineup for the next 106 games. Jackson finished her career with a 104-36 overall record and a 56-16 mark in ACC play. She graduated as one of Duke's 1,000-point scorers with 1,272 points and ranks second all-time in Blue Devil history with 235 three-pointers.
Duke finished the year 27-9 overall and 16-2 in league action. The Blue Devils captured their first ACC regular season title since 2013 and their 10th ACC Tournament crown. Earning a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament, Duke advanced to the Elite Eight before falling to No. 1 seed UCLA.
