DURHAM, N.C. – Duke signee
Taylor Racioppi recently helped lead the United States U-20 Women's National Team to a 3-0 record at the 10 Nations U-19 International Tournament in La Manga, in Spain.
Racioppi, who is a product of Ocean Township, N.J., started the final two games of the tournament in Spain and led the U.S. to victories over Sweden (2-0) and Netherlands (2-0). She missed the first match as the United States downed Norway, 2-0.
This was the first international event for this age group in the new cycle as they focus on qualifying for the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup, which has an age cut-off of players born on or after Jan. 1, 1996. As the U.S. players are in the first year of a two-year cycle, and all were born in 1996, 1997 or 1998, they are technically still U-19s.
Racioppi will be a freshman on the Duke women's soccer team under head coach
Robbie Church in the fall.
