DURHAM, N.C. – Duke women's lacrosse head coach Kerstin Kimel and the Blue Devil staff welcomed the addition of 12 freshmen to the program this fall ahead of the 2016 campaign. Midfielder/defender Charlotte Tucci comes to Duke from Rye, N.Y.

Charlotte Tucci
Midfield/Defense l Rye, N.Y. l Rye
Prior to Duke: Tucci joins the Duke program from Rye High School in New York, where she was a three-time all-section and all-league pick. The younger sister of former Blue Devil captain Emma Tucci ('14), she was named to the New Jersey Under Armour All-America team in 2013 and the New England Under Armour All-America squad in 2014. Tucci totaled 202 goals, 68 assists, 117 draw controls and 99 ground balls over her four seasons and as a senior was tabbed her high school's female athlete of the year.
What is your favorite lacrosse memory?
CT: Scoring my 200th goal my senior year.
When did you start playing lacrosse?
CT: I started playing lacrosse when I was eight, in second grade. I played for Rye Youth Lacrosse throughout elementary and middle school. I joined the CT Chargers club team the summer going into eighth grade and have played on that ever since.
Who has had the biggest impact on your life?
CT: My family has had the biggest impact on my life because they have given me continuous support and encouragement.
Why did you choose Duke?
CT: Duke offers the complete package for a student athlete. The prestigious academics, highly competitive athletics and Duke community are everything I was looking for during my college search.
What are your goals for your collegiate career?
CT: Win a national championship.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years? In 10 years, I see myself living in New York City or San Francisco with a fun, interesting job.
