What is your favorite lacrosse memory?
CL: When my high school team beat our biggest rival by one goal in the last 10 seconds of the game my sophomore year. Since we weren't expected to pull out the win, it made the victory even sweeter!
When did you start playing lacrosse?
CL: I started playing as a fifth grader in a small recreational league. My mom's favorite part of college was playing lacrosse, so she encouraged me to pick it up as well.
Who has had the biggest impact on your life?
CL: My parents have the biggest impact on my life because of their constant love and support. I would never have been able to play lacrosse at such an incredible school without their encouragement. My three siblings also push me to be competitive and help raise my confidence every day.
Why did you choose Duke?
CL: I chose Duke for its top-notch academics and athletics. I love how being an athlete and a student go hand in hand, so that there is no need to sacrifice one or the other. I also feel so honored to have such a supportive coaching staff and team.
What are your goals for your collegiate career?
CL: I would love to win a national championship and be the best teammate I can be!
Quick Hitters:
Favorite athlete: Tom Brady
Hobbies: Anything on the beach or in the ocean
Favorite TV show: One Tree Hill
Favorite musician: Lana del Ray
Pre-game ritual/superstition: I always wear my hair in a braided ponytail with a headband to keep my 'wispies' from flying. I also love to listen to music before games.
If you were to play another sport, what would it be? I would play field hockey since I loved it so much in middle school and high school.
Hidden talent: I can do a headstand for three minutes!
Best advice you've received: “Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” – Ferris Bueller
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? I see myself working in a big city doing something I love and wishing I were back at Duke!
To be a part of the Duke women's lacrosse program is … a dream come true. I cannot wait to be a part of such an elite and tight-knit team.
