CARMEL, IND. – The Duke men's golf team wrapped up a third-place finish at the Crooked Stick Intercollegiate on Tuesday with a final-round 303 (+15), placing the Blue Devils' final total for the tournament at 894 (+30).
Illinois won the tournament with a total of 866 (+2) and Purdue took second with a total of 885 (+21).
Duke got top-10 finishes from sophomore Adam Wood, who tied for sixth with a total of 219 (+3), and junior Matt Oshrine, who tied for eighth with a score of 220 (+4). Wood, playing miles from his hometown of Zionsville, Ind., fired a one-under 71 on Tuesday, while Oshrine shot 75 (+3).
In four tournaments this season, Wood has produced three top-10 finishes, two of which have seen him place in the top five.
Junior Max Greyserman earned his second consecutive top-20 finish, tying for 20th with a total of 229 (+13). Sophomore Jake Shuman tied for 23rd with a total of 230 (+17), while freshman Alex Smalley rounded out the Duke lineup in a tie for 41st with a total of 236 (+20).
Freshman Shrish Dwivedi tied for 43rd as an individual, posting a total of 237 (+21) for the tournament.
Duke will wrap up the fall portion of its 2015-16 schedule when it travels to Kiawah Island, S.C., to take part in the Wendy's Kiawah Classic at Turtle Point from Nov. 1-3. Live scoring will be available at golfstatresults.com.
