INDIVIDUAL NOTES• Senior quarterback
Anthony Boone suffered his first career loss as a starting quarterback in regular-season game, falling to 14-1.
- Boone's overall record of 14-3 (.824 winning percentage) is the second best among Duke quarterbacks, behind only Worth Lutz's .846 mark.
• Senior wide receiver
Jamison Crowder extended his consecutive games streak with two or more receptions to 33. The mark is the second longest streak among active NCAA receivers, trailing only East Carolina's Justin Hardy, who owns 40 consecutive games with two or more receptions.
• Sophomore wide receiver
Johnell Barnes ended with a season-best 29 yards receiving.
• Junior running back
Shaquille Powell rushed for a season-high 58 yards, just one yard shy of his career high of 59 yards, set against Miami in 2013.
- Powell rushed for his second TD of the season, and first since the Elon game, in the second quarter.
• Freshman running back
Shaun Wilson gained 31 yards on eight carries for an average of 3.9 yards a rush.
- Wilson entered the game leading all FBS players in yards per carry with 14.43.
• Wilson finished with a career-high six catches for a team-best 74 yards.
• Senior linebacker
David Helton tallied nine tackles, including four assists.
- He entered the game ranked third among active FBS players in career assisted tackles with 156.
- Helton also began the contest standing third in the ACC in tackles per game with 10.5.
• Redshirt junior safety
Jeremy Cash booked 1.0 tackle for lost yardage. He is the only Blue Devil to have at least one TFL in all five games this season.
• Cash finished with 10 tackles, all solo stops, giving him double-digit stops in three-straight games.
• Cash forced his first fumble of the season in the third quarter. He forced another fumble in the fourth quarter. He now owns five career forced fumbles.

DeVon Edwards as Blue Devils who have forced two fumbles in a game this season.
- The two forced fumbles are tied for the second most in a game in program history.
• Cash also ended with a year-best two quarterback hurries.

Breon Borders recovered his first career fumble in the third quarter following the Cash force.

Deondre Singleton recovered his recovered his first career fumble in the fourth quarter following the Cash force.
• Junior kicker
Ross Martin, the Duke career PAT record holder, converted one PAT and has made 83 consecutive PATs to remain one behind Will Snyderwine (2009-11/84) for the longest streak in Blue Devil history.
• Martin has scored at least one point in 32 straight games.
• Martin made the 40th field goal of his career in the third quarter. He is the third player in Duke history to make 40 or more field goals in his career, joining Sims Lenhardt (1996-99/55) and Will Snyderwin (2009-11/46).
• Junior
Will Monday punted a season-high eight time. He averaged a year second-best 49.2 yards a boot. He held the Hurricanes to an average starting field position of their own 27-yard line.
• Senior offensive lineman
Laken Tomlinson started his 44th straight game, tied with two other linemen for the longest streak among active NCAA FBS linemen.
TEAM NOTES• After an opening-drive field goal for Miami, Duke trailed in a game for the first time since second quarter at Troy during week two.
• Miami scored a touchdown on its second drive to go ahead 9-0. The Blue Devils' largest deficit entering the game was 11 points, down 14-3, at Troy during week two.
• Duke was held scoreless in the opening quarter. It was the first time this season the Blue Devils had not scored in a quarter.
• Duke has outscored opponents 98-39 in the first half of games through the first five contests.
• By scoring 10 points, the Blue Devils pushed their season total to 184 points in five games. It is the second most points scored through the first five games of a year in program history, just one point behind the 2012 squad.
• With one rushing touchdown, Duke has scored at least one ground TD in 21 of the last 22 games.
• In this season's five games, Duke has gained 1,129 total rushing yards (225.80 per game). In the last six games, the Blue Devils have produced 1,363 ground yards, an average of 227.17 per contest.
• Duke's offensive line allowed just one sack. In the past three contests, the Blue Devils have yielded just two sacks.
• By limiting Miami to 22 points, Duke held its 13th consecutive regular season opponent to 30 or fewer points. Only Miami (30; Nov. 9, 2013) has reached 30 points during the stretch.
- The last team to surpass 30 points in the regular season against Duke was Troy with 31 on Sept. 28, 2013.
- The Blue Devils entered the game with the seventh best scoring defense among FBS teams with an average of 11.50 points per game surrendered.
• The Blue Devils held Miami to X+14 points in the second half. In the first five weeks of the season, Duke has allowed only 30 second half points.
• After not recording a turnover in the first two games of the season, Duke has created nine in the last three games.
• Duke held Miami to just two-of-13 (.154 percent) on third down attempts. In the last two games, opponents had been 13-of-28 (.464 percent) on third down.
• Miami went one-for-one on fourth down in the game. Despite the conversion, opponents have failed to convert on 10 of their last 11+1 fourth down attempts.
• Miami quarterback Brad Kaaya threw a 28-yard touchdown pass to Herb Waters in the third quarter. It was the first TD pass of the year allowed by the Duke defense.
- The Blue Devils entered the game as one of just six FBS programs to have not allowed an aerial score.
- Duke allowed a second passing TD in the fourth quarter.
