INDIVIDUAL NOTES• With 3,965 yards,
Anthony Boone moved into ninth on the Duke career passing yards list, moving ahead of D. Bryant (2000-01), who had 3,902 yards.
• Boone improved to 14-0 as a starting quarterback in regular-season games.
- Boone's overall record of 14-2 (.875 winning percentage) is good for the best winning percentage by a signal caller in program history.
• Boone's 14 wins as a starting quarterback are the fifth most by a Blue Devil QB. Jerry Barger (1951-54) owns the program record with 17 victories.
• Boone threw his first interception of the season on his 20th attempt of the game and his 125th attempt on the year. It is the second-longest streak to start a year without throwing a pick in Duke history. Ben Bennett holds the record with 126 attempts without an interception to start the season in 1983.
• Boone also ran the ball a season-high 10 times for 42 yards and scored on a one-yard rush to finish the first drive of the third quarter.
• Boone moved into fourth on the career quarterback rushing touchdowns list with 14. He currently trails third-place Elmore Hackney (1935-27) with 20 career rushing scores.
Brandon Connette (2010-13) is the school leader with 31.
• Senior wide receiver
Jamison Crowder hauled in 6 passes for 119 yards for his first 100-yard game of the season. He now has 220 receptions, good for the fifth most in ACC history and the second most in Duke history. Former Blue Devil
Conner Vernon (2009-12/283 catches) holds the all-time league and school mark.
• Crowder extended his consecutive games streak with two or more receptions to 32. The mark is the second longest streak among active NCAA receivers, trailing only East Carolina's Justin Hardy, who owns 40 consecutive games with two or more receptions.
• Freshman running back
Shaun Wilson gained 70 yards on seven carries. A week ago, he rushed for a Duke single-game record 245 yards on 12 carries.
• Senior linebacker
David Helton finished with 11 tackles, including seven assists, and recorded his first sack of the season. He entered the game ranked third among active FBS players in career assisted tackles with 163.
• Junior kicker
Ross Martin scored nine points to push his career total to 243 and surpass Sims Lenhardt (1996-99/240) for the all-time Duke points record.
• Martin kicked six PATs to give him 126 in his career, surpassing Randy Gardner (1989-92/122) for the most in Duke history.
• Martin has made 82 consecutive PATs, the second longest streak in Duke history, trailing only 84 consecutive PATs by Will Snyderwine (2009-11).
• Martin has scored at least one point in 31 straight games.
• Senior offensive lineman
Laken Tomlinson started his 43rd straight game, tied with three other linemen for the longest streak among active NCAA FBS linemen.
• Senior defensive end
Jonathan Jones recorded his first start since Nov. 3, 2012, getting the nod in place of injured redshirt senior defensive end
Dezmond Johnson. It was Jones' third career start.
• Redshirt junior offensive guard
Cody Robinson made his first career start, replacing the injured redshirt junior
Lucas Patrick at left guard.
• Redshirt sophomore quarterback
Thomas Sirk recorded a career-high 94 yards rushing on the day. He had a career-long 50-yard rush and also logged a 43-yard run.
• Sophomore safety
Deondre Singleton jarred the ball loose in the end zone to prevent a scoring catch on what would have been the first passing touchdown allowed by the Duke defense. Singleton finished the game with a career-best 11 tackles.
• Redshirt senior running back
Josh Snead recorded his first rushing touchdown of the season on a two-yard run to cap the second drive of the game for the Blue Devils. He now has five career rushing scores.
• Junior safety
Dwayne Norman and sophomore safety
DeVon Edwards each recorded the first sacks of their careers.
• Redshirt junior
Jeremy Cash recorded his first interception of the season. It was the fifth interception of Cash's career. Cash finished the game with 11 tackles.
• Freshman linebacker
Zavier Carmichael notched his first career interception late in the second quarter in the red zone.
• Redshirt junior tight end
David Reeves recovered a fumble on a muffed Tulane punt return, the first fumble recovery for Duke on the season.
• Sophomore cornerback
Bryon Fields returned his first career interception 22 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter. Fields added a season-high nine tackles on the afternoon.
• Redshirt freshman running back
Joseph Ajeigbe scored his first career touchdown on a 12-yard interception return. The interception came after a fumbled snap on a punt attempt.
• Helton, Cash and Singleton all finished with double-digit tackles. It was Helton's third consecutive and Cash's second consecutive game with double-digit tackles.
TEAM NOTES• With the victory, Duke improves to 4-0 for the first time since opening the 1994 campaign at 7-0.
- Since 1960, the Blue Devils have started 4-0 or better only four times (1994, 1988, 1971 and 1965).
• Duke improves to 20-11 in non-conference games under head coach
David Cutcliffe. The Blue Devils have won their last 10 non-league regular season games and are 13-1 in the last 14 such contests.
- The 10 consecutive non-league regular season wins are the most in Duke history.
• The Blue Devils have won 12 consecutive regular season contests. The streak is the third longest active regular season winning streak among FBS programs, trailing only Northern Illinois (26) and Florida State (14).
- The 12 consecutive regular season wins are tied for the longest streak in Duke history. From Nov. 23, 1940 – Sept. 26, 1942 Duke also won 12 straight regular season contests.
• With the victory, Duke won for the 14th time in its last 18 contests. It is the winningest 18-game stretch for the program since claiming 14 of 18 contests from Oct. 28, 1961 - Oct. 5, 1963.
• Similarly, the Blue Devils have won 12 of their last 14 games for the most successful 14-contest stretch since winning 12 and tying once during a 14-game run from Sept. 29, 1962 - Oct. 19, 1963.
• With the 4-0 start, Cutcliffe has upped his Duke win total to 35. He trails Mike McGee (1971-78/37) for third on the all-time Duke chart by two wins. Wallace Wade (1931-41; 1946-50) owns the school mark with 110 triumphs.
• Duke improved to 2-2 all-time against Tulane and 11-10 against current members of the American Athletic Conference.
• The win was Duke's seventh straight at home. The last loss inside Wallace Wade Stadium was a 58-55 setback to Pittsburgh on Sept. 21, 2013. The Blue Devils' last home loss to a non-conference team was a 44-14 decision to No. 6 Stanford on Sept. 10, 2011.
• Duke outgained Tulane 437-375 in total yards of offense. The Blue Devils have outgained their foes in six of the last seven contests with the only exception being to eventual national champion Florida State in the 2013 Dr Pepper ACC Championship Game.
• Duke scored 40+ points in consecutive regular season games for the first time since 2010.
• The Blue Devils have outscored opponents 91-30 in the first half of games through the first four contests.
• Duke held Tulane to seven points in the first half. The Blue Devils are the first team this season to hold The Green Wave to less than 21 points at halftime.
• With the 35+ points, Duke has tallied 35 or more points in seven consecutive home games.
- Overall, it is the fifth straight game the Blue Devils have scored 30 or more points, the second longest stretch in Duke history. Duke scored 30 or more points in six straight games from Oct. 7 - Nov. 18, 1989.
- In the eight years before Cutcliffe took over, Duke turned in four campaigns with one game or fewer scoring 30 points, including not reaching 30 at all in 2004.
- Duke is 27-9 (.750 winning percentage) when scoring at least 30 points under Cutcliffe.
• By scoring 47 points, the Blue Devils have totaled 174 points during the first four games of the season, the most in the Cutcliffe Era.
• With four rushing touchdowns, Duke has scored at least one ground TD in 20 of the last 21 games.
• The Blue Devils have also surpassed 120 rushing yards in 18 of the last 20 contests.
• Duke scored on its opening drive for the third time this season on a one-yard run by
Thomas Sirk. Duke also scored on its opening drive against Elon and Kansas.
• All 71 yards of Duke's opening drive came on quarterback rushes. Sirk ran for 44 yards on two carries, while Boone had 27 yards on four rushes.
• The two quarterbacks combined for 84 of Duke's 100 first half rushing yards (Sirk - 43; Boone - 41).
• In this season's four games, Duke has gained 1,044 total rushing yards (261.00 per game). In the last five games, the Blue Devils have produced 1,278 ground yards, an average of 255.60 per contest.
• Duke entered the game as one of 22 teams without a fumble lost this season.
• By limiting Tulane to 13 points, Duke held its 12th consecutive regular season opponent to 30 or fewer points. Only Miami (30; Nov. 9, 2013) has reached 30 points during the stretch.
- The last team to surpass 30 points in the regular season against Duke was Troy with 31 on Sept. 28, 2013.
• Through the first four games, the Blue Devils have allowed just 46 points. The total is tied for the fifth fewest surrendered through the first four games of the season since 1960. Only the 1972 (21), 1964 (29), 1961 (30) and 1994 (45) units allowed fewer in the initial four contests.
• The Blue Devils held Tulane to six points in the second half. In the first four weeks of the season, Duke has allowed only 16 second half points.
- Duke has shut out its last three opponents in the fourth quarter.
• After not recording a turnover in the first two games of the season, Duke has created two+ in the last two contests with four interceptions and one fumble recovery, the first fumble recovery of the season for the Blue Devils.
• Duke's five forced turnovers are a season high and are the most since forcing five (three INTs, two fumbles) at Virginia Tech Nov. 22, 2008.
• The last time a Duke defense intercepted four passes was Oct. 26, 2013 versus Virginia Tech.
• Duke scored twice on interception returns for touchdowns, the first multiple defensive touchdown game since Nov. 9, 2013 versus NC State.
• The Blue Devils went 0-for-1 on fourth-down conversions. In the last five games, Duke is 11-of-16 on fourth down attempts.
• Duke recorded its first safety of the season thanks to an errant snap on a Tulane punt in the first quarter. It's the first safety for Duke since Nov. 27, 2010 versus North Carolina.
• Duke allowed its first punt return of the year off a 65-yard punt from redshirt junior

• Duke made its first red zone stop of the season on
Zavier Carmichael's second quarter interception.
• Duke set the season-high mark for tackles-for-loss with eight, the most since Oct. 19, 2013 at Virginia, when Duke posted 10 tackles for loss.
