INDIVIDUAL NOTES•
Anthony Boone completed 19-of-33 passes for 180 yards and two touchdowns.
• Boone tossed two touchdown passes to increase his career total to 26 to take over sole possession of eighth on Duke's career passing TD list.
• Boone improved to 13-0 as a starting quarterback in regular-season games.
- Boone's overall record of 13-2 (.867 winning percentage) is good for the best winning percentage by a signal caller in program history.
• Boone's 13 wins as a starting quarterback are tied for the fifth most by a Blue Devil QB. Jerry Barger (1951-54) owns the program record with 17 victories.
• Boone has yet to throw an interception this season and is up to 107 attempts. It is the second-longest streak to start a year without throwing a pick in Duke history. Ben Bennett holds the record with 126 attempts without an interception to start the season in 1983.
• Senior wide receiver
Jamison Crowder hauled in two passes for 14 yards. He now has 214 receptions, good for the sixth most in ACC history and the second most in Duke history. Former Blue Devil
Conner Vernon (2009-12/283 catches) holds the all-time league and school mark.
• Crowder extended his consecutive games streak with two or more receptions to 31. The mark is the second longest streak among active NCAA receivers, trailing only East Carolina's Justin Hardy, who extended his own streak to 39 such consecutive games in a win over Virginia Tech on Saturday.
• Freshman running back
Shaun Wilson broke the Duke single-game rushing record with 245 yards on the ground. The 245 yards came on just 12 carries, good for a 20.42 yards per rush average. His 245 rushing yards are the third-most by an FBS running back in 2014 and the 27th-most in ACC history. Wilson had three rushing touchdowns, covering 69, 68 and 45 yards. The three rushing touchdowns are tied for the eighth-most in a single game in school history, and the most by a Duke freshman. Wilson had his first career rushing touchdown on his first carry of the game, scoring on a 69-yard run in the first quarter. His 69-yard run matched the second longest run by a Duke freshman and the 21st longest rush from scrimmage in Duke history. Wilson's second touchdown came on a 68-yard run in the third quarter. Wilson's third score came on a 45-yard run in the fourth quarter. Wilson became just the second player in Duke history to have two 68+ yard rushes in the same game and the first freshman. Wilson tied the freshman single-game scoring record of 18 points, matching
DeVon Edwards, whose three touchdowns (two interception returns, one kickoff return) came last year in a win over NC State. Wilson's 252 all-purpose yards rank as the 12th-most in a single game in school history and the second-most by a freshman. In his first three collegiate games, Wilson has averaged 15.90 yards per attempt.
• Junior wide receiver
Max McCaffrey caught a career-high seven passes for a personal-best 79 yards and a career-best two touchdowns. It was the first multiple touchdown game of his career. His first touchdown came on a 36-yard pass from Boone on Duke's opening drive. It was the longest receiving touchdown of his career and his first of the season. His second score came on a 10-yard pass from Boone. McCaffrey now has 16 receptions on the season for a team-best 178 yards. In 2013, McCaffrey tallied 26 grabs in 14 games.
• Redshirt senior wide receiver
Issac Blakeney finished with four catches for 48 yards. He owns 13 receptions for 183 yards so far this year after totaling 19 catches for 244 yards a year ago.
• Senior linebacker
David Helton finished with 11 tackles, including nine assists. He entered the game ranked sixth among active FBS players in career assisted tackles with 139. The 11 tackles marked the seventh double-digit tackle game of his career and his second straight.
• Redshirt sophomore safety/cornerback
DeVon Edwards recorded his first interception of the season, picking off a pass in the opening quarter. It was the fourth interception of his career and the first for the Duke defense this season. Edwards also booked seven tackles a week after recording a personal-best 14 stops.
• Redshirt freshman safety/cornerback
Evrett Edwards registered his first career interception in the second quarter. Edwards returned the pick 34 yards.
• Redshirt junior safety
Jeremy Cash finished the day with a team-high 12 tackles, including a half sack. It was the second straight game in which he had at least a half sack.
• Senior defensive end
Jonathan Jones recorded his first sack of the year. He now has 6.5 career sacks.
• Redshirt senior defensive tackle
Jamal Bruce combined with Cash on a quarterback sack in the second quarter. It was the first sack of the season for Bruce.
• Junior kicker
Ross Martin drilled a 27-yard field goal in the second quarter to give him 38 in his career to move ahead of Doug Peterson (1986-88) for the third most in program history. It was the second field goal of the game for Martin after he connected on a 20-yard try in the first quarter. Sims Lenhardt (1996-99) holds the school record with 55 field goals.
• Martin has scored at least one point in 30 straight games.
• Martin has made 76 consecutive PATs, the second longest streak in Duke history, trailing only 84 consecutive PATs by Will Snyderwine (2009-11).
• Martin's 120 PATs are good for the second most in Duke history, behind only Randy Gardner's (1989-92) 122.
• Senior offensive lineman
Laken Tomlinson started his 42nd straight game, tied with three other linemen for the longest streak among active NCAA FBS linemen.
TEAM NOTES• With the victory, Duke improves to 3-0 for the first time since opening the 1994 campaign at 7-0.
- Since 1960, the Blue Devils have started 3-0 or better only nine times.
• Duke improves to 18-11 in non-conference games under head coach
David Cutcliffe. The Blue Devils have won their last nine non-league regular season games and are 12-1 in the last 13 such contests.
- The nine consecutive non-league regular season wins are the most in Duke history.
• With the victory, Duke won for the 13th time in its last 17 contests. It is the winningest 17-game stretch for the program since claiming 13 of 17 contests from Sept. 29, 1962 – Nov. 9, 1963.
• Similarly, the Blue Devils have won 11 of their last 13 games for the most successful 13-contest stretch since winning 11 and tying once during a 13-game run from Sept. 29, 1962 - Oct. 12, 1963.
• With the 3-0 start, Cutcliffe has upped his Duke win total to 34. He trails Mike McGee (1971-78/37) for third on the all-time Duke chart by three wins. Wallace Wade (1931-41; 1946-50) owns the school mark with 110 triumphs.
• Duke won its first game against an opponent who was an active member of the Big 12 Conference. The Blue Devils own three wins against West Virginia and one versus Baylor, but none while those institutions were affiliated with the Big 12.
• The Blue Devils recorded their second win against a Power 5 conference member outside the ACC during regular season games under Cutcliffe. The other victory was a 10-7 win at Vanderbilt on Oct. 25, 2008.
• The win was Duke's sixth straight at home. The last loss inside Wallace Wade Stadium was a 58-55 setback to Pittsburgh on Sept. 21, 2013. The Blue Devils' last home loss to a non-conference team was a 44-14 setback to No. 6 Stanford on Sept. 10, 2011.
• With the win the Blue Devils improve to 11-0 in their last 11 regular-season games.
• Duke outgained Kansas 511-297 in total yards of offense. The Blue Devils have outgained their foes in five of the last six contests with the only exception being to eventual national champion Florida State in the 2013 Dr Pepper ACC Championship Game.
• Duke's 331 rushing yards are the second most under Cutcliffe, behind only 358 yards against Miami on Nov. 16, 2013.
• Duke scored on its opening drive for the second time this season when

• The Blue Devils have outscored opponents 72-23 in the first half of games through the first three contests.
• With the 41 points, Duke has tallied 35 or more points in six consecutive home games.
- Overall, it is fourth straight game the Blue Devils have scored 30 or more points, tied for the longest stretch of the Cutcliffe Era.
- Duke is 26-9 (.743 winning percentage) when scoring at least 30 points under Cutcliffe.
• By scoring 41 points, the Blue Devils totaled 127 points during the first three games of the season, the most in the Cutcliffe Era.
• With
Shaun Wilson's three rushing touchdowns, Duke has scored at least one ground TD in 19 of the last 20 games.
• The Blue Devils have also surpassed 120 rushing yards in 17 of the last 19 contests.
• In this season's three games, Duke has gained 788 total rushing yards (262.67 per game). In the last four games, the Blue Devils have produced 1,022 ground yards, an average of 255.50 per contest.
• Duke did not commit a turnover for the third straight game, a first for the program since Nov. 23, 2002, against North Carolina, to Sept. 5, 2003, versus Western Carolina.
- The Blue Devils entered the game as one of 12 FBS teams to have not turned the ball over this season.
• The offensive line did not surrender a sack. The unit entered the game tied for 24th in fewest sacks allowed with just two yielded, both last week at Troy.
• The Blue Devils tallied 23 first downs. This season, Duke has averaged 26.33 first downs per game.
- Duke entered the game tied for ninth among FBS programs with 56 total first downs.
• By limiting Kansas to three points, Duke held its 10th consecutive regular season opponent to 30 or fewer points. Only North Carolina (25; Nov. 25, 2013) even reached 25 points during the stretch.
- The last team to surpass 30 points in the regular season against Duke was Troy with 31 on Sept. 28, 2013.
• The Blue Devils held Kansas scoreless in the second half. In the first three weeks of the season, Duke has allowed only 10 second half points.
• The three points by Kansas marked the sixth time under Cutcliffe Duke held its opponent to less than 10 points. It is tied for the second-fewest points allowed in a game under Cutcliffe, trailing only a shutout of N.C. Central to open the 2013 campaign.
• The Blue Devils went 1-for-2 on fourth-down conversions. In the last four games, Duke is 11-of-15 on fourth down attempts.
