DURHAM, N.C. – Duke women's lacrosse head coach Kerstin Kimel welcomed the addition of 10 players to the Blue Devil program this fall, with nine freshmen and one transfer student joining the squad for the 2015 campaign.

Anne Slusser
Midfield/Defense l Excelsior, Minn. l The Blake School
Prior to Duke: Slusser comes to Durham from Excelsior, Minn., where she led The Blake School to five state championships and was a three-time all-state selection. As a senior, she ranked top-10 in the state in assists and compiled 79 draw controls while leading all players in the state in caused turnovers as a junior. Tabbed an Under Armour Midwest All-American in 2012, Slusser was also a finalist for the 2014 Ms. Lacrosse Award, given to the top senior player in the state.
What is your favorite lacrosse memory?
AS: Playing our rival, Eden Prairie, my senior season. Our entire team went crazy with eye black and there was an article written about our win later that night.
When did you start playing lacrosse?
AS: I started playing lacrosse in second grade with my mom as my coach.
Why did you choose Duke?
AS: I choose Duke for its commitment to both athletics and academics. Also, the amount of school spirit here is incredible and I wanted to be a part of it as soon as I came on campus.
What are your goals for your collegiate career?
AS: Learn as much as I can while I'm here, become the best player I can be and win a national championship!
Who has had the biggest impact on your life?
AS: My younger sister, Laura. I look up to her in so many ways and we always support each other no matter what.

Best advice you've received: “Accept the things you can't change, have courage to change the things you can and have wisdom to know the difference.”
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Hopefully having a successful career doing something I love.
