INDIVIDUAL NOTES• Redshirt senior quarterback
Anthony Boone's 22 completions gave him 498 for his career, moving him into sixth on the Duke all-time chart.
Sean Renfree (2009-12) owns the program record with 898 completions.
• Boone accounted for two touchdowns to lift his career total to 50, the sixth most in Duke history.
• Redshirt sophomore quarterback
Thomas Sirk ran for his eighth touchdown of the season in the fourth quarter. The eight ground scores are tied for the fourth most by a QB in a season in program history.
Brandon Connette set the mark with 14 in 2013.
• Senior wide receiver
Jamison Crowder hauled in six passes for 73 yards. He now has 268 career receptions, trailing only former Blue Devil
Conner Vernon (2009-12/283 catches) for the all-time ACC and school records.
• The 73 yards pushed Crowder's total to 3,437, good for fourth on the ACC career chart. Vernon owns the league and Duke records with 3,749 yards.
• Crowder extended his consecutive games streak with two or more receptions to 39. The mark is the second longest streak among active NCAA receivers, trailing only East Carolina's Justin Hardy, who owns 45 consecutive games with two or more receptions.
• Crowder's six receptions pushed his season total to 70, tied for the seventh most in a year in Duke history. He set the school's single-season record in 2013 with 108 catches.
• Crowder finished with 73 all-purpose yards to move up to seventh on the ACC career all-purpose chart with 5,270 yards. Clemson's C.J. Spiller (2006-09) holds the league record with 7,588 all-purpose yards.
• Crowder returned a punt 30 yards in the first quarter on Thursday, his sixth of 30+ yards in the last two years.
• Crowder's touchdown in the third quarter lifted his career total against North Carolina to five. He scored in each of his four games versus the Tar Heels.
• Crowder's touchdown moves him into a tie with Eron Riley for third in Duke history with 22 career receiving touchdowns.
• Redshirt senior wide receiver
Issac Blakeney caught two passes for 17 yards and one touchdown, his sixth score of the season. He now has surpassed his previous career total of five receiving touchdowns entering 2014.
• Blakeney has caught 10 passes for 155 yards in the last three games after totaling nine catches for 63 yards in the previous three contests.
• Junior wide receiver
Max McCaffrey has eight receptions for 120 yards in the last two contests to break out of a two-catch, nine-yard slump in the previous two games.
• Sophomore wide receiver
Johnell Barnes set a career-high with 85 receiving yards on the day.
• Freshman running back
Shaun Wilson rushed for 15 yards on five carries, moving him into a tie for fourth on Duke's all-time freshman season rushing yards list with 568 yards.
• Wilson's 16 all-purpose yards gave him 747 for the season, the 10th most by a freshman in Duke history. Chris Douglas (2000) owns the record with 1,442 all-purpose yards.
• Senior linebacker
David Helton tallied a game-high 17 tackles, including 12 assists. He also recovered the first fumble of his career in the second quarter.
- He entered the game ranked third among active FBS players in career assisted tackles with 200.
- Helton also began the contest leading the ACC in tackles per game this season with 10.30.
• Helton's 17 tackles increased his career total to 332, the 11th most in program history. Mike Junkin (1983-86) owns the Duke record with 513 stops.
• Helton recorded his sixth double-digit tackle game this season and the 11th of his career.
• Redshirt sophomore safety
DeVon Edwards finished the game with a career-high 15 tackles, his fifth game this season with 10 or more tackles and seventh of his career.
• Edwards' 15 tackles are the second most by a Duke player this season, trailing Helton's 18 tackles at Pittsburgh.
• Edwards has recorded seven or more tackles in every game this season.
• Edwards also forced his fourth fumble of the season in the second quarter against North Carolina.
• Sophomore cornerback
Bryon Fields registered the first fumble recovery of his career in the second quarter against the Tar Heels.
• Redshirt senior defensive end Jordan Dewalt-Ondijo forced a fumble in the second quarter, the third of his career.
• Junior kicker
Ross Martin, the Duke career PAT record holder, converted two PATs and has made 101 consecutive PATs, extending his school record. Will Snyderwine (2009-11) held the previous high for consecutive PATs with 84.
- Martin's extra points lifted his season total to 41, the fourth-most in a single season in Duke history. Martin owns the single-season record with 58 PATs in 2013.
• Martin has scored at least one point in 38 straight games.
• Senior offensive lineman
Laken Tomlinson started his 50th straight game, tied with four others for the longest streak among active NCAA FBS linemen.
TEAM NOTES• Duke has outscored opponents 77-39 in the third quarter of games this season.
• The Blue Devils have scored in 38 of 44 quarters this season.
- In Duke's eight wins, the team has scored in 31 of 32 quarters.
- In Duke's three losses, the team has scored in just seven of 12 quarters.
• With Duke's one rushing touchdown, the team now has 21 ground scores.
- With 28 rushing touchdowns last year, it is the first time since 1994-95 that Duke has produced consecutive seasons with 20 or more ground scores.
• The Blue Devils are averaging 186.64 rushing yards per game after gaining 116 versus North Carolina.
- Duke has not averaged 200.00 or more yards a contest since averaging 235.36 in 1976.
• Duke recorded 378 yards of total offense after averaging 292.5 yards per game in the last two contests.
• The Blue Devils allowed 591 yards to North Carolina after yielding 517 yards combined in the previous two games.
- The 591 total yards for the Tar Heels were the second most allowed by Duke this season, second to Pittsburgh's 594 yards.
• North Carolina recorded three plays of more than 40 yards against the Duke defense. The Blue Devils had allowed just two plays of 40+ yards entering Thursday's game.
• The Blue Devils recorded two sacks, giving the squad 12.0 in the last four games.
• After not recording a turnover in the first two games of the season, Duke has created 19 in the last nine games.
• The Blue Devils recovered three fumbles against the Tar Heels Thursday night. Duke had not recovered three or more fumbles in a game since picking up four against Florida State on Oct. 27, 2012.
• Duke allowed 13 punt return yards to North Carolina after limiting teams to -1 yard in the previous five games.
• The Tar Heels also recorded 50 kickoff return yards after Duke surrendered just 87 in the last two contests.
• The Blue Devils attempted its first onside kick of the season midway through the fourth quarter against North Carolina.
• Duke has allowed 226 points this season. The total is good for the fewest allowed through the first 11 games since the start of the 1981 campaign.
• Duke allowed 21 points to North Carolina in the first quarter, marking the first time this season the Blue Devils have surrendered more than nine points in the first period.

• North Carolina returned a Duke fumble 10 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter. It was the first time an opponent returned a fumble for a score against Duke since Wake Forest Nov. 25, 2013.
