Women?s Lacrosse Hosts Fall Action This Weekend

DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke women's lacrosse program will wrap up the fall portion of its schedule this weekend by hosting action Saturday, Oct. 25 and Sunday, Oct. 26 at the West Campus Athletic Field Complex.
Saturday's scrimmages will see Duke take on Michigan at 10 a.m. and Florida at 12:30 p.m. on the grass practice field on Frank Bassett Drive. The Wolverines and the Gators will face off in between the two contests at 11:15 a.m.
The Blue Devils host the program's annual Duke Fall Invitational Sunday at the turf and grass practice fields. The tournament will feature Duke, Elon, Florida, High Point, Lindenwood, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech and Winthrop in contests beginning at 8 a.m. and continuing through 1 p.m. The Blue Devils are slated to go up against Elon at 8 a.m., High Point at 9 a.m. and Vanderbilt at 11 a.m.
Admission to all of this weekend's contests is free. Fans planning to attend should be advised that other athletic events on campus will affect parking availability. On Saturday a swimming and diving meet is slated for 11 a.m. and men's lacrosse alumni games at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., while the men's basketball team's annual Countdown to Craziness event begins at 6 p.m. On Sunday Duke will host a swimming and diving meet at 11 a.m., a women's soccer match at 1 p.m. and a women's basketball exhibition contest at 2 p.m.
Fan parking Saturday and Sunday will be available in the 751 Lot and disability parking will be on Frank Bassett Drive. Team vans and buses will be directed to Frank Bassett Drive.
Under the direction of head coach Kerstin Kimel, Duke returns 25 letterwinners and nine starters from last year's team, which went 11-8 and reached the NCAA quarterfinals for the 10th consecutive season.
