DURHAM, N.C. -- Recently, GoDuke.com sat down with senior Mollie Pathman to learn more about the Durham, N.C., native.
GoDuke.com: Name your three favorite things about being a student-athlete at Duke.
Mollie Pathman: Getting to be part of a team, being part of the Duke culture and the Duke sports culture and contending for a national championship.
GoDuke.com: What is your favorite 'on the field' memory?
MP: The game against Wake Forest in the Final Four. It all came together and after every goal the celebrations – when the final whistle blew everyone charged the field.
GoDuke.com: What is your favorite 'off the field' memory?
MP: Before games in the locker room with everyone dancing and everyone being relaxed and having fun.
GoDuke.com: Describe head coach Robbie Church in three words.
MP: Passionate, dedicated and heartfelt.
GoDuke.com: What would you do on a day off with no class and no practice?
MP: Hang out with the team.
GoDuke.com: What are your favorite restaurants in Durham?
MP: I'm a Durhamite so I should have some good ones! I like Pulcinella's – it's an Italian restaurant. Also Torero's, NOSH and Tyler's.
GoDuke.com: Who do you model your game after?
MP: I grew up watching the U.S. national team in the World Cup. I'd like to think that I could play like Kristine Lilly even though I can't. Growing up, that's who I looked up to.
GoDuke.com: Name three people dead or alive you would have dinner with if you could.
MP: Steve Jobs, Nelson Mandela and [Lionel] Messi, just because he's awesome.
