DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke women's lacrosse team concludes its fall slate this weekend, hosting the program's annual Duke Fall Invitational Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 26 and 27 on the West Campus Turf Fields.
Saturday's action will feature Duke, Florida, North Carolina and Michigan in four 50-minute contests beginning at 9 a.m. On Sunday, Coastal Carolina Duke, Elon, High Point, Louisville, Michigan, Richmond, Vanderbilt and Winthrop will take part in 25-minute games which get underway at 8 a.m. and continue through 1 p.m.
The Blue Devils will face Michigan at 9 a.m. and Florida at 11:15 a.m. Saturday morning before taking on Vanderbilt, Richmond, Louisville, Winthrop and High Point Sunday.
Admission to all of this weekend's contests is free. Fans planning to attend should be advised that other athletic events on campus will affect parking availability. On Saturday a men's basketball exhibition game is slated for 1 p.m. and a volleyball match for 6:30 p.m., while on Sunday Duke will also host a televised women's soccer game at 1 p.m. and a women's basketball scrimmage at 2 p.m.
Fan parking Saturday will be in the gravel lot off of Frank Bassett Drive with overflow parking available in the Large Circuit Lot for $10. Fans attending Sunday's contests may park in the 751 Lot. Tailgating areas will be available both days in the gravel lot off Frank Bassett Drive.
Team van parking will be in the same gravel lot off Frank Bassett Drive while team buses can park in front of Jack Coombs Field on Whitford Drive.
Under the direction of head coach Kerstin Kimel, Duke is coming off of its ninth consecutive trip to the NCAA Quarterfinals and a 14-6 finish in 2013. The squad will return nine starters this spring, including IWLCA All-Americans Kelsey Duryea and Taylor Virden, and welcomed the nation's sixth-ranked recruiting class according to Inside Lacrosse.
