Redlicki and Novikov were seeded fourth in the doubles draw going into the nine-day tournament. The duo advanced to the finals after defeating eighth-seeded Brendan McClain and Thomas Pura, 6-4, 7-6 (4), in Friday's semifinal round.
Redlicki also competed in the singles draw as the second seed, advancing to the quarterfinal round, where he fell to Alexios Halebian, 6-4, 7-6 (7).
A product of Chicago, Ill., Redlicki is rated No. 5 overall in the Tennis RPI rankings and No. 8 nationally by TennisRecruiting.net. Earlier this summer, he teamed with Duke rising sophomore Jason Tahir to take the doubles crown at the USA F18 Futures tournament in Pittsburgh. Redlicki has also previously captured titles at the USTA National Clay Court Championship and the USTA National Open Hard Court Championships during the summer of 2011, as well as at the Midwest Junior Indoor Championships in February 2011.
The 2012 U.S. Open is slated for Aug. 27-Sept. 8 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens, N.Y., with the men's doubles draws set to be released the week of Aug. 27.
