DURHAM, N.C.— Following a standout rookie campaign with the Blue Devil women's soccer team, freshman forward
Kelly Cobb had ankle surgery. GoDuke.com checked in with the Chugiak, Alaska product recently to see how she is doing in her recovery and what she learned while watching the Blue Devils from the sidelines in the spring.
Cobb netted a Duke freshman record 11 goals on the season, while posting nine assists and 31 points. The nine assists ranks second on the Blue Devil freshman list, while her 31 points is also a new Duke freshman record. Her six game-winning goals tied a Duke single-season record as the Blue Devils advanced to the NCAA College Cup and won a school-record 22 contests.
She was a second team All-ACC selection, All-ACC Freshman Team honoree and a Freshman All-America in 2011.
