Duke Seeded 7th in ACC Postseason Tournament

DURHAM, N.C.-The Duke University men's soccer team will head to the ACC postseason as the No. 7 overall seed and will travel to ACC regular season co-champion and No. 2 seed North Carolina for the ACC Quarterfinal round. The Blue Devils and third-ranked Tar Heels kick off Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. at Fetzer Field.
Tickets for the ACC quarterfinals are $8 for adults and $5 for children and students. All ACC students will be admitted free of charge with valid student identification from the university.
Duke (7-7-2) earned the No. 7 seed after going 3-4-1 overall in league play for 10 points. Virginia also finished with 10 points, edging the Blue Devils for the sixth seed based on its 1-0 win over Duke earlier in the year.
North Carolina (14-2-1) captured a share of the ACC regular season title with top-ranked Maryland, posting a 6-1-1 record. The Tar Heels defeated Boston College 4-0 Thursday night to earn the co-champions title.
The Blue Devils are 18-20-4 overall in ACC Tournament action and 0-1-0 as the No. 7 seed.
The tournament then moves to the Maryland SoccerPlex at Germantown, Md., on Friday, Nov. 9 for semifinal matches at 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Both contests will be available on ESPN3.
The semifinal winners will play for the ACC Championship and the league's automatic berth in the NCAA Championship on Sunday, Nov. 11 at Noon. The ACC Championship match will be televised on ESPNU.
