DURHAM, N.C. – Two members of the 2011 Duke women's lacrosse squad – Sarah Bullard and Kat Thomas - have been named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division I Academic Honor Roll as announced by the organization.
The IWLCA honored 176 student-athletes from 61 different institutions on this year's list. All student-athletes were nominated by their schools and have achieved at least junior status academically. Thirty-three of the 176 student-athletes recognized were member of teams that advanced to the NCAA Tournament, including Duke's two representatives.
Bullard, a Sociology major who also completed the Markets and Management Certificate, graduated in May after completing a standout career with the Blue Devils. For her career, Bullard, a two-time All-American, totaled 141 goals to tie for eighth all-time in the Duke record books.
Thomas, who is pursuing a double major in International Comparative Studies and Russian, earned All-America honors in 2011 after accumulating 45 goals and 62 draw controls. The Latham, N.Y., native will return for her senior season in 2011-12.
