Eight Blue Devils Set for 2012 National Senior Team Tryouts

BALTIMORE – Eight Blue Devils, including four current members of the Duke women's lacrosse team, as set to take part in second round of tryouts for the 2012 U.S. women's national senior team, which are being held at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) in Catonsville, Md., July 29-31. Current Blue Devils Emma Hamm, Maddy Morrissey, Taylor Virden and Kim Wenger join alumnae Sarah Bullard, Christie Kaestner, Allie Johnson and Megan Huether in pursuit of a spot on Team USA.
The tryout roster was narrowed down after the first round of tryouts held Memorial Day weekend in Stony Brook, N.Y., in conjunction with the US Lacrosse Women's Division National Tournament. Seventy-eight former and current college players from 30 schools made the cut for this weekend's final evaluation.
The players will be evaluated over the three-day tryout in drill and scrimmage sessions. The final roster will be announced after the conclusion of the tryout, July 31.
