DURHAM, N.C. - Duke senior Lindsay Gilbride has earned her third career WomensLax.com Player of the Week honor as announced by the organization on Monday, May 17.
Gilbride led Duke to victory in a hard fought NCAA First Round match-up with Vanderbilt, scoring five goals on the afternoon, four in the second half, including the game winner with only one second left on the clock to secure the 16-15 victory and keep Duke's season alive. In addition to leading all scorers with a season-high five goals, Gilbride added an assist, 3 ground balls, a draw control and a caused turnover. Gilbride has been a consistent and significant offensive threat during her time in Durham and is currently second on the team with 62 points (40g, 22a) in 2010. With the win.
Duke advances to the NCAA Quarterfinals and will travel to Evanston, Ill., to face second-seeded Northwestern on Saturday at 1 p.m. (CST).
