WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.-The Duke University women's tennis team posted a 4-1 record in singles play on the final day of the Wake Forest Fall Invitational on Sunday at Leighton Stadium. The Blue Devils' duo of Ellah Nze and Reka Zsilinszka fell in the title match in the lone doubles competition of the day.

After cruising its way to the championship doubles match, the junior tandem of Nze and Zsilinszka dropped an 8-4 decision to the pair of Marisa Lambropoulos and Breanne Smutko of Illinois to earn runner-up honors. The Blue Devil duo finished the opening weekend with a 3-1 record.

Winning in singles action on the final day for Duke were Nze, seniors Amanda Granson and Elizabeth Plotkin and sophomore Monica Gorny.

Nze cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Virginia Berry of Davidson, while 57th-ranked Granson dropped Breanne Smutko 6-4, 6-0. Plotkin blanked Richmond's Kelly Tidwell 6-0, 6-0 to finish her first full weekend of tennis in nearly two years with a 3-1 record. Rounding out the singles lineup was Gorny with a 6-1, 6-3 triumph over Erin Clark of Richmond.

The Blue Devils resume action next week at the Riviera/ITA All-American Tournament in Malibu, Calif.
