DURHAM, N.C. ? After winning its final regular season series against Georgia Tech, Duke earned the seventh overall seed in the 2009 ACC Baseball Championship and will open with a matchup against No. 2 seed North Carolina at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
Duke (34-22, 15-15 ACC) was placed in Division B along with second-seeded North Carolina (41-14, 19-10 ACC), third-seeded Clemson (39-17, 19-11 ACC) and sixth-seeded Virginia (39-12-1, 16-11-1 ACC). The Blue Devils are 4-5 against that group this season with a series win against North Carolina and one victory from Clemson and Virginia.
Under the pool-play format, each team will play one game against each of the other three opponents in its division Wednesday through Saturday (May 20-23). The two teams with the best records within their respective division brackets will advance to the title game on Sunday, May 24, with the winner earning the ACC's automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.
Florida State (40-14, 19-9) earned the top overall seed and will play in Division A along with fourth-seeded Georgia Tech (34-15-1, 17-10-1), fifth-seeded Miami (17-12) and eighth-seeded Boston College (31-23, 13-15). Duke is also 5-4 against that group this season.

Duke (34-22, 15-15 ACC) is coming off a series win over seventh-ranked Georgia Tech after bouncing back from a 10-3 game one loss to win game two 6-4 and game three 5-3. The two wins over the Yellow Jackets ran Duke's record against top-25 teams to 7-8 on the season and its ACC record to 15-15, which is the second-most conference wins by a Duke team in school history.
