Adrian Aye-Darko,
Cameron Goldberg and
Kevin Jones ? have been named to the 40-member Academic All-ACC football team announced on Monday by league commissioner John Swofford.
To be eligible for consideration, a player must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career. All 12 ACC schools were represented by at least one selection on the team.
Aye-Darko, a redshirt senior safety from Stevenson Ranch, Calif., started nine games in 2008 and finished fifth on the team in tackles with 58. For his career, he played in 47 games and amassed 180 tackles and four interceptions.
Goldberg, a redshirt senior offensive tackle from Lutherville, Md., started 35 career games at Duke and earned the program's Outstanding Offensive Lineman award for the 2008 season.
Jones, a redshirt sophomore punter from Austin, Texas, ranked third in the ACC in 2008 with a punting average of 40.8 yards per kick. In addition, he had 27 of his boots downed inside the opponents' 20 yard line against just six touchbacks.
