Men's Soccer Earns NSCAA Team Academic Award

DURHAM, N.C.-The Duke University men's soccer team recently was awarded the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2008-09 academic year. The Blue Devils were one of 143 university men's soccer programs to be honored.

Under the guidance of head coach John Kerr, Duke posted a 3.08 team grade point average during the 2008-09 academic year. The Blue Devils were one of two men's teams from the ACC honored as North Carolina State also garnered the award.

Duke recently completed the 2009 season with a 14-7 overall record, advancing to the third round of the NCAA Tournament, which included upsetting No. 14 seed Michigan State in the second round. The Blue Devils finished with a 12-1 mark at home and were 4-4 in ACC competition.
