FOXBOROUGH - Emotion is something Revolution defender Jay Heaps rarely lacked. He was the 5-foot-8-inch guy with gestures that could be seen from anywhere in Gillette Stadium. He yelled. He laughed. He cheered. Yesterday, Heaps returned to Foxborough to retire from Major League Soccer after 11 seasons.
Heaps, 33, a Longmeadow native, leaves as the longest-tenured player in Revolution history after 8 1/2 seasons. He was honored in a ceremony that included Revolution staff and coaches, his teammates, and his family.
