DURHAM, N.C. – Duke senior linebacker Vincent Rey has earned ACC Player of the Week honors after helping the Blue Devils to a 17-13 victory over Maryland this past Saturday.
Rey, a native of Far Rockaway, N.Y., recorded eight total tackles, one tackle for loss and a fourth quarter interception to share the league's Defensive Lineman of the Week accolade with Virginia's Nate Collins. Duke limited the Terrapins to just 249 yards – 87.6 yards under their season average – and a season-low 11 first downs.
Other ACC weekly award winners included Florida State's Christian Ponder (Offensive Back), Clemson's C.J. Spiller (Specialist), Florida State's Andrew Datko (Offensive Lineman), Clemson's DeAndre McDaniel (Defensive Back) and Clemson's Kyle Parker (Rookie).
