Duke head coach David Cutcliffe:
Opening:
"To fight for four quarters as well as we did tonight, I'm just very proud of our guys. I loved our spirit and our energy today. We gave up some big plays in the first half, but really settled down after that. It has to be the best game I've ever had a quarterback have in college. Thad was marvelous today. Our offensive line and receiving core was marvelous. Overall, just an excellent display of team football."
On Duke offense:
"The last three weeks we've been changing some things with our offense, and we got a great effort today. We're doing some things with the I-formation, but we're going to make our living spreading things out. This is a big win for us on the road, but if we're growing, we have to continue to improve each week."
On Duke defense in second half:
"We played some man (defense). They (NC State) are big at receiver. I just kept telling our coaches and defensive players to hang in there and keep going at it. Our rush started to get there more in the second half, and we made (Russell) Wilson move some out of the pocket, and then were able to get a couple sacks."
On week off and next opponent:
"Well, this is a great win for our kids. What this does, is it ends a six-game season. We'll get together and regroup and get a little bit of time to heal and run through stuff before we come back and have another six-game season. We need to continue to be as aggressive as we can be, and take it one week at a time."
