DURHAM, N.C. ? GoDuke.com caught up with women's lacrosse head coach Kerstin Kimel and junior attacker Carolyn Davis on Wednesday afternoon to discuss the upcoming NCAA Tournament.
Duke opens NCAA Tournament play on Sunday against Georgetown at 2 p.m. in Washington, D.C.
This is the 11th consecutive year that Duke has qualified for the NCAA tournament. In that span, the Blue Devils have advanced to four national semifinal games (1999, 2005, 2006 and 2007) and accumulated a 10-10 tournament record. Last season, Duke fell to Virginia in the semifinals, 14-13, at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Pa.
Eight first-round games will be conducted Sunday, May 11, and four quarterfinal games will be played Saturday, May 17. The winners of the four quarterfinal games will advance to the semifinals and final May 23 and 25 at Johnny Unitas Stadium in Towson, Md.
