DURHAM, N.C. ? GoDuke.com recently sat down with women's lacrosse goalkeeper Regan Bosch for her senior profile. Bosch, a native of Annapolis, Md., discusses why she wears the number 77, what her dream job would be, her favorite part of practice, plus much more.
GoDuke.com: What is your nickname?
Regan Bosch: Ravie, Gravy or Mangoss.
GD: What do you have in your iPod before a game?
RB: Depends on my mood but some Clipse, Talib Kweli, Paramore, Britney Spears... I'm all over the place.
GD: Why do you wear No. 77?
RB: Had to be an odd number, had to be a double, obviously anything else is just lame. Plus, it looks pretty sick on my sweatpants.
GD: What is your favorite movie?
RB: Top Gun.
GD: What's your favorite food?
RB: Crab cakes.
GD: Do you have any pre-game rituals?
RB: I drive really fast from pre-game meal to the locker room. No joke ? it's kinda dangerous. Nothing gets me going like taking the turn onto University Drive at 40 mph.
GD: What's your best non-athletic talent?
RB: Art I hope, otherwise I've wasted a few years here.
GD: What are you planning on doing after graduation?
RB: Immediate plans ? fly fishing tournament in Aspen with Caroline Cryer and my dad. Beyond July I have no clue and am enjoying it that way.
GD: What would your dream job be?
RB: Designing the interiors of bars and restaurants, then being able to move on to the next one. Ultimately, I want a job that is exciting and challenges me every day.
GD: What's your favorite part of practice and why?
RB: Shooting drills. Some goalies hate them but I love them.
GD: Where is your secret spot to study?
RB: Not so secret ? Mad Hatters.
GD: Being a few years removed from high school, what pops into your head when you think back to your high school career?
RB: The last game was to go to the championships. I couldn't tell you the score or even who we played, I think I had a bunch of saves but we lost anyway. It was on our home field and the image that I always come back to is me sitting by the fence crying. It's framed in my room, I don't know why ? it's kind of depressing.
GD: What is your advice to this year's freshmen on your team?
RB: Enjoy it. It flies by, and before you know it you'll be graduating. Take time to make memories, and give your whole heart.
GD: If you could go back-stage at any concert, what would it be?
RB: Micky Avalon, hands down.
GD: Where is your favorite place to play outside of Duke?
RB: The Ravens' stadium was definitely one of the most amazing fields I've ever been to. Playing in Annapolis at the Final Four my freshman year was really special too because the stadium is a few blocks from my house and I basically grew up there. But then we lost and my memory of it has been tainted forever.
GD: What do you do in your free time?
RB: Watch a lot of TV and hang out with the dog.
