Senior Cassidy Powers:
“Their (UCLA) are a good team. I mean I don't really know what else to say. It was a really good game in the first half and they got a couple of goals on us. We tried everything we could but they just kept scoring. I give a lot of credit to them and they will do well in the tournament.”
On giving up the goal going into half:
“Nobody likes getting scored on right before going into halftime. It was a great shot though so I couldn't really let it get to me.”
Senior Lorraine Quinn
“First off, we gave up three goals off of corner kicks. It is pretty hard to win a game giving up three goals off corner kicks -- I don't think we marked up well. Their athleticism and ball-movement were superior I thought. My hats off to them. They played a good game.”
On giving up the goal going into half:
“After they scored the first one, we came back and rallied a quick goal. We gave away one more off a corner kick but with one minute left letting another goal up and having them pull out of our reach broke our backs a little bit.”
Head Coach Robbie Church
“First of all, let's give credit to UCLA. What a fantastic job they did tonight. We knew they were very good, but I thought they really played on all cylinders tonight. They have been here so much and been in this situation so much. They came out and put us on our heels from almost the opening kickoff and got early goals. The one before halftime was just a back-breaker. That was a killer with less than two minutes left. We did a good job of adjusting some things -- making some formation changes. They started a formation that we talked about but didn't spent much time on. Their ball-movement, their moving off the ball -- we got very indecisive on our decision and there was a lot of space. They finished. The one I am confused is we gave up more set play goals than we have all year combined, tonight. Congratulations to UCLA. We had a fantastic year -- 310 teams out there would have love to be in the situation we were in right now. We wish UCLA the best as they move on.”
