Starting Streaks
Senior wide receiver Eron Riley earned his team-high 35th straight starting nod. Vince Oghobaase and Rob Schirmann each started for the 34th straight game. Junior quarterback Thaddeus Lewis made his 33rd consecutive start. Kevin Jones and Cameron Goldberg extended their start streaks to 22 straight games. Fred Roland and Michael Tauiliili each started for the 21st consecutive game. Sophomore cornerback Chris Rwabukamba earned his first career start as the nickelback in his 19th game.
Asack Throws Seventh Career Touchdown
Junior Zack Asack threw a 28-yard touchdown pass to Eron Riley for his seventh career touchdown pass and second of the season. Asack threw a touchdown pass earlier this season against Miami.
Riley Moves Up Touchdown Lists
Senior wide receiver Eron Riley tallied his seventh touchdown reception of the season on a 28-yard grab to move him into a tie for ninth on Duke's single season list. The touchdown catch also moves him into a tie for third with Cedric Jones on Duke's career list with 21 touchdowns.
Reception Streaks
Eron Riley extended his streak to 24 consecutive games with at least one reception. He has caught at least two passes in all 10 games this season. True freshman Johnny Williams has now caught a pass in all nine games of his career.
Tauiliili Passes 400 Career Tackles
Senior middle linebacker Michael Tauiliili became the seventh player in Duke history to reach 400 career tackles with 12 tackles against Clemson. Tauiliili now has 405 career tackles to rank tied for sixth all-time with Emmett Tilley. He is now 10 tackles away from Erwin Sampson in fifth on the career chart.
Tauiliili Reaches Century Mark
Michael Tauiliili recorded 12 tackles to go over 100 tackles for the second straight season. He has now totaled a career-high 111 tackles this season to lead the ACC. He entered the game with a conference-best 11.0 tackles per game. His previous best for a single season was 108 tackles last season.
Blue Devils Record Sacks
Junior defensive tackle Vince Oghobaase registered two sacks in the game to give him 3.5 sacks on the season and nine career sacks. On Clemson's second offensive drive, senior defensive end Greg Akinbiyi tallied his fourth sack of the year. He leads the team with 12.5 tackles for loss on the season. Sophomore Abraham Kromah registered his first career sack in the fourth quarter. Senior Glenn Williams followed Kromah's sack with his second sack of the season. He now has 4.5 career sacks. The five sacks by the Blue Devils are a season high. The previous best was four sacks at Vanderbilt.
Gainey Matches Career High In First Half
Junior safety Catron Gainey set a career high with 12 tackles against Clemson. He matched his previous career high in the first half with 10 tackles. He had two games with 10 tackles last season with 10 stops against Georgia Tech and Notre Dame. Sophomore cornerback Chris Rwabukamba also recorded career highs with seven tackles and two tackles for loss.
Tackles For Loss
Senior linebacker Michael Tauiliili recorded his 42nd career tackle for loss in the third quarter to move past Matt Zielinski into third on Duke's career tackles for loss list. He finished the game with 1.5 tackles for loss to give him 42.5 in his career. He is now five tackles for loss shy of Ryan Fowler for second all-time.
Double Digit Tackles
Four Blue Devils recorded at least 10 tackles against Clemson. Michael Tauiliili posted 12 tackles for his 17th career double digit tackle performance. He has five games this season with 10 or more tackles. Junior linebacker Vincent Rey tallied his 10th career game with 10 or more tackles. He finished the game with 11 tackles to give him 88 on the season. He has three double digit tackle games this season. Catron Gainey recorded his third career double digit tackle game with a career-high 12 tackles. Senior Glenn Williams registered his fourth career double digit tackle game and second this season with 11 tackles.
Caused Fumble
Glenn Williams forced a fumble on Saturday to tie him for the team lead with three caused fumbles on the year. He now has four career forced fumbles.
Marshall Climbs Season Kick Return Charts
Senior cornerback Jabari Marshall moved into the top 10 for single season kick returns and kick return yards against Clemson. Marshall had three returns for 74 yards. He now ranks eighth in school history with 28 returns and eighth with 675 return yards. He is one return and three yards shy of seventh place all-time.
