Duke Travels To Wake Forest To Begin November
The Duke Blue Devils (4-3, 1-2 ACC) will travel to Winston-Salem, N.C., on Saturday to take on Wake Forest (4-3, 2-2 ACC) at 3:30 p.m. The game can be seen on the internet on ESPN 360 or can be heard on the Duke Radio Network with Bob Harris (play-by-play), Wes Chesson (analysis) and Anthony Dilweg (sideline) calling the action. Duke will play its second straight road game. The Blue Devils came away with a 10-7 victory at Vanderbilt last Saturday. Wake Forest has lost two straight games, including a 16-10 setback at Miami last weekend. Saturday is the fifth annual National College Football Day, honoring the birth of college football (Nov. 6, 1869 ? Rutgers vs. Princeton).
2007: Wake Forest Wins Shootout, 41-36
Duke led 9-0 early after a safety and a 68-yard touchdown pass from Thaddeus Lewis to Eron Riley, but Wake Forest then scored 34 consecutive points to gain a 34-9 advantage. The Blue Devils scored four touchdowns in the second half to make the game close but the Demon Deacons held on for a 41-36 victory in Durham. Wake Forest's Kenneth Moore had a big day with 11 catches for 100 yards to go with four carries for 84 yards and two touchdowns. The Demon Deacons also got a 30-yard interception return for a touchdown by cornerback Alphonso Smith. Duke was led by Riley who caught eight passes for 143 yards and two touchdowns. Lewis finished the day 21-of-47 for 291 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions.

The Blue Devils lead the all-time series with Wake Forest by a 53-33-2 count. The series dates back to March 29, 1889 when Wake Forest defeated Duke, 32-0, in Raleigh. In Winston-Salem, Duke has won 13 of the 25 meetings. Wake Forest has won eight in a row and nine of the past 11 meetings over the Blue Devils. Duke enjoyed success against the Demon Deacons in the 1960s and 70s, winning 14-of-17 games from 1961-78.

Blue Devils Edge Vanderbilt On the Road
The Duke defense tallied a season-high four sacks and forced three turnovers in a 10-7 road victory over Vanderbilt last Saturday. Reserve cornerback Chris Rwabukamba intercepted a pass at the one-yard line with 38 seconds remaining in the game to seal the win for the Blue Devils. Duke posted a shutout through three quarters. They led 10-0 on a Thaddeus Lewis-to-Tony Jackson 22-yard touchdown pass and Nick Maggio 42-yard field goal. Vanderbilt's Sean Walker caught a 79-yard touchdown pass midway through the fourth quarter to cut the lead to three.
Wake Forest Scouting Report
The Demon Deacons' offense is led quarterback Riley Skinner, the ACC's leader with 192 passing yards per game. He has thrown for 1,344 yards and seven touchdowns on the year. His top target is wide receiver DJ Boldin who has 39 receptions for 428 yards and one touchdown. Aaron Curry leads the defense with 56 tackles, eight tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, one interception and one fumble recovery. Cornerback Alphonso Smith has three interceptions and 13 pass deflections on the season.

National College Football Day
Saturday, Nov. 1 will be the fifth annual National College Football Day. To honor the birth of college football (Nov. 6, 1869 ? Rutgers vs. Princeton), the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic created a holiday to be held annually on the first Saturday of November. For the third straight year, the Cotton Bowl Classic will team up with The V Foundation for Cancer Research to raise funds and increase awareness in the fight against cancer. Last season nearly $20,000 was raised.
